Berry kicked off the 2021 season on Monday night when it hosted Covenant in a doubleheader, sweeping the Scots 11-6 in Game 1 and 14-0 in Game 2. Ben Coker earned his first win of the season in the opening game, striking out four, while Garrett West earned his first one in the second game, striking out five and only giving up one hit. In the first game, Zack Walch got the runs going in the second with a double to left field, scoring Dalton Smith and taking the 3-1 lead. From there, the bats stayed hot as Wesley Wade, Tyler Calvert and Derrick Newman each homered for the Vikings. Though the Scots threatened with a couple of runs in the fourth and fifth inning, the long ball prevailed for the Vikings and Weston Bray's single to right center in the bottom of the eighth secured the 11-6 victory. In game two, Berry took advantage of an early fielding error and went up 5-0 in the first, following a single from Zach Huie and a double from Levi Cloud. From there, the Viking offense continued to find success as Calvert added another homer (his second of the night) in the third, Cloud added another double in the third and Wade and John Poist also connected with doubles. The Vikings completed game two with 11 hits to Covenant's two and secured the 14-0 shutout.

Parker Edwards hit two home runs, a three run shot in the first inning and another in the fourth as St. Thomas (Texas) defeated Howard Payne 9-5 in five innings on Thursday, Feb. 11. After the early deficit, the Yellow Jackets scored four times when they brought nine men to bat in the top of the second but as quickly as they took the lead, the Celts took it back with a crooked number of their own in the bottom of the second. Landon Murray survived for three inings to get his first win of the season

Centenary opened its 2021 regular season with a decisive 6-1 win on Tuesday afternoon over the Louisiana College Wildcats at Shehee Stadium. The Gents (1-0) won their ninth consecutive home opener and won for the fourth time in their last five home games. The Wildcats dropped to 3-2 with Tuesday's loss. Centenary was playing its first game since March 1, 2020 as COVID-19 limited the season to just 13 games. Centenary used eight pitchers in the game with senior Conner Poche, Centenary's second pitcher of the afternoon, picking up the win as he pitched two innings and allowed no runs on one hit and struck out three.  Centenary finished with 12 hits while the Wildcats mustered just five and hurt themselves with four errors. Louisiana College also hit into six double plays. Gents pitchers combined for eight strikeouts with just three walks and each team left seven men on base. Five Centenary players (Tyler Erickson, Chris Haggard, Preston Ludwick, senior Luke Royle, and Tyler Welch) each collected two hits apiece. Cody Crowder went 1-3 with an RBI, a walk, and two runs scored. Dane Pedersen went 2-4 to lead the Wildcats' offense. The Gents remain at home this week as they face the ETBU Tigers on Friday.

After not being on the field for 11 months due to COVID-19, East Texas Baptist returned to Woods Field for their 2021 spring opener and started with a bang. Behind stellar offense and brilliant pitching, the Tigers came up with two wins over Jarvis Christian College, 8-3, and 9-2, to begin the 2021 season 2-0. Game one saw ETBU take care of business with two homers as they won 8-3. Carson Wilson (two hits) made the most of his first game with four RBI, including a home run in his first at-bat. Christopher Robinson also homered and drove in two RBI. Jake Miller and Will Kelley would each have two hits. Rece Gustafson (2.0 IP, two runs, four hits, two K's) received the start, but Cole Godkin earned the win in five relief innings allowing one run on four hits while striking out a career-high seven hitters. In game two, the Tigers would use a six-run fourth inning to pull away from the Bulldogs, 9-2. Wilson and Austin Barry (RBI) would each have two hits while Jake Miller hit a three-run homer. Robinson tacked on two more RBI to finish with four on the day. Adrian Stover would get the win in four innings allowing one run on four hits while striking a new personal best five batters.
