Rhodes was enjoying a breakout season in 2020 and stayed on track at the beginning of 2021 with a sweep of Milsaps, 14-5, 13-9. Chris Penna led all hitters on a day that 41 runs were scored. The catcher was 5-for-9 with five runs and six RBIs on the day. He added two doubles and a home run. SSA rival  Birmingham-Southern also added a win in a non-conference game within the SSA. The Panthers defeated Hendix 7-3.

William Peace used a four-run, sixth inning to take a
5-2 advantage. Roanoke got single runs in the seventh,
eighth, ninth, and tenth to complete the late inning
rally, taking the opener, 6-5. Game two would see the
Pacers score the first six runs of the game. Roanoke
would add three late runs but William Peace salvaged
a split with a 6-3 win.

Maryville (Tenn.) earned their first victory of the season with a 9-5 road win over Brevard in a non-conference challenge Sunday afternoon. Junior right-hander Damian Lusby tossed six complete shutout innings to earn his fifth career mound victory. The Lake Placid, Florida native struck out six Tornados while allowing only one hit in 78 pitches of work. Maryville's offense lit up Brevard's staff for 14 hits. Maryville added a second win in their season, finishing the doubleheader sweep with a 9-1 win in the nightcap. Jimmy Meredith had two hits with two RBIs ans two runs scored in the late game.

Ferrum opened its season on the road in a non-conference series against the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan Sunday afternoon. The Panthers took game one 6-5, and game two was paused due to darkness with Ferrum trailing 11-4 in the home-half of the fourth inning. The second game will be finished at Panther Field, as well as the rubber match of the series, Tuesday February 23. Matt Yarbrough led the Panthers going 2-for-5, with a home run and a triple and five RBIs.
"It was great to get back on the field today! Even though we didn't play very good baseball, we had good effort and we competed well today and came away with a win in our first game in almost a year.", said head coach Ryan Brittle.

The Maryville diamondmen completed a non-conference sweep of Brevard on the road with an 8-1 nightcap victory. Sophomore right-hander Chris Arbuthnot kept the Brevard hitters off-balance scattering six hits over 5.2 innings to earn the mound decision. The Knoxville, Tennessee native struck out seven, walked only one, and did not allow an earned run. Tommy Fester came in to thwart a bases-loaded jam and closed the game on the mound for the Scots. Oglethorpe claimed their first series victory of the season as they routed the homestanding Berry Vikings 19-5 in a game that was shortened to seven innings due to the 10-run rule.

Centenary picked up a pair of dominant victories on Sunday in the Belhaven University Tournament, starting the day with a 15-5 win over Edgewood and finishing things off with a 10-2 decision against Huntingdon at Smith-Wills Stadium. The Gents (4-1) quickly shook off their first loss of the season, a 5-0 setback to host Belhaven on Saturday night, by scoring 25 runs and collecting 29 hits on Sunday. Centenary scored in double digits for the first time this season after doing so five times in just 13 games last season. The Gents also scored more than 12 runs in a game for the fifth time in the last two seasons. Senior right fielder Cody Crowder had a big day for the Gents as he went 4-10 at the plate with four RBI, three runs scored, and a walk. He had three extra-base hits on the day as he tripled in game one and had a double and a home run in the second game. His triple was the 11th of his career as he became the Gents' all-time leader in triples in the division III era (2012-present).

Greensboro College's Cole Cooper pitched a complete-game shutout as the Pride claimed a Sunday afternoon victory over Lynchburg, 3-0. Cooper (1-0) struck out five batters and surrendered only three hits in the afternoon contest as he pitched the longest outing of his career. Cooper only face four situations with runners on second base throughout the contest and never had a Hornets batter reached third base the entire afternoon. Michael Garvey Jr. and Jacob Rodriguez registered the Pride's lone multi-hit efforts on the afternoon. Garvey Jr. finished two-for-four on the afternoon while Rodriguez finished two-for-three.
