Coach Greg Wallace used seven pitchers Thursday in a makeup date against Cornell and the seven combined on a two-hit shutout, as Augustana defeated the Rams 8-0 at Swanson Stadium/Brunner Field. The Vikings improved to 8-0 heading into this weekend's CCIW-opening series with North Central, while Cornell fell to 0-10 on the season. Senior Max Mead got Wallace's nod as the starter and was the only one of 15 hurlers in the game to go more than one inning. He went three frames, retiring the first eight batters he faced without the ball leaving the infield. Rams' number nine hitter Mitch Lawson finally touched him for a single to left with two outs in the third, but he retired Caleb Sass on a flyout to Brett Benedetti in center to finish his stint. As Viking relievers continue to handcuff the Rams, Augustana left the bases loaded in the third before adding to the lead with a run in the sixth. Freshman Alec McGinnis drew a leadoff walk and stole second. Classmate Carter Foat sacrificed him to third and he scored on Benedetti's grounder to second. Brandon Johnson pitched around Cornell's second hit to retire the Rams in the eighth and freshman Addison Southwick issued the staff's only walk of the day in the ninth before coaxing a game-ending 4-6-3 double play. Jacob Irwin (1-0), who retired the side in order in the fourth, was credited with the win.

Eastern Nazarene topped Bridgewater State 4-2 in seven innings on a rainy Thursday afternoon at Libby Field. The Lions climb to 2-3 on the season with the win while the Bears fall to 0-1 overall. Max Miednik notched two hits, one RBI, one stolen base, and one run scored. Joshua Bombard drove in two RBIs while landing one base knock and scoring one run. Francis Ferguson finished with one hit, one run scored, and a stolen base while Jaime Roldan added a hit and a run. Brenndan Rogers tossed five innings and racked up five strikeouts in his first start of the spring and 20th career start on the hill. Jon Tessier worked 1.1 innings of relief and recorded one strikeout in his third appearance of the year. Morgan Weast picked up his first career save after pitching the final two-thirds of an inning in his team-leading fourth outing.

North Park (6-0, 1-0 CCIW) is off to the best start in school history, using a 22-6 Thursday evening rout of the Concordia Chicago Cougars to get there. In a game that featured countless offensive standouts, Ranko Stevanovic led the way going 5-for-6 with three RBIs and four runs scored. Jared Cantu got the scoring started in the bottom of the first to put the home squad up 4-0 after one inning. After Concordia responded with three runs in the top of the second, North Park refused to let their lead sit at one run for long. Six runs came across in the bottom of the frame and ten more runs crossed the plate to send North Park into the seventh up 22-3. From there, the final few innings weren't much more than a formality as the Vikings rolled to their sixth consecutive win to start the season by a score of 22-6.

Bethel fell just short of a series sweep of Wayne State Thursday afternoon dropping the finale, 7-6. The Royals comeback efforts were sparked by a two-out solo home run by Thomas Friesen in the fifth. In the sixth, BU took advantage of Justin Winterfeldt doubling down the left-field line and James Woelfel recording a sacrifice fly scoring Kennan Hodgkin and Nick Wibben respectively. Joey Fredrickson got BU within a run crossing the plate on a wild pitch in the seventh but that was the end of the scoring for the Royals.
