Thomas secures 100th win with Bisons

Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College baseball faced the Westminster Titans in a PAC doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Bethany Park. The Bison won in walk-off fashion in game one, winning 2-1. Game two went to the Titans, 8-1.

Head Coach Justin Thomas picked up his 100th career win in game one.   

The opener was scoreless until the seventh inning when the Titans plated one run. In the bottom half of the inning, Cory Newman reached on an error, scoring Tyler Alworth. Ethan Young hit a walk-off single to left field to score Nick Roell. Trey Mantle pitched a complete game to give his coach the milestone win (7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K). Ethan Young (1-1, 1 RBI, 1 BB), Tyler Alworth (1-3, 1 run), and Nick Roell (0-2, 1 run) led the offense.

Westminster won the night cap 8-1 as Zach Pressnell took the loss (L, 1-2)(4.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HR).

The Bison return to the field on Sunday, April 11 when they adventure to Westminster for a doubleheader at 1:30 pm.
