MADISON, N.J. - Brian Eberly has been named as the new head baseball coach at Drew University, Director of Athletics Christa Racine has announced.

Eberly comes to the Forest after serving as the Head Baseball Coach and Coordinator of Athletic Events and Facilities at nearby County College of Morris (CCM) over the last 12 years. A former NCAA Division II student-athlete, he becomes just the 15th head coach in the 91-year history of Drew baseball and only the fourth since 1984.

"I am honored to be joining the Drew University family," said Eberly. "I could not be more excited for this opportunity. I would like to thank Athletic Director Christa Racine, Assistant Athletic Director Brian Hirschberg, and the entire search committee for their faith in me to lead this program."

"I am thrilled to welcome Brian to the Ranger Athletics Staff," said Racine. "He brings a wealth of experience and a great baseball acumen to our program. He built a winning tradition at CCM and has a proven track record for developing student-athletes. I believe he will be a great addition to the Drew community."

At CCM, Eberly inherited a program which had qualified for postseason play just once in its previous 10 seasons and turned it into a consistent winner and regional power.

Excluding the COVID-shortened 2020 season, the Titans captured the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) championship in three of its last four full seasons in 2021, 2019, 2017, with Eberly being named GSAC Coach of the Year each year. He was also named the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 19 Coach of the Year in 2017.

The Titans spent significant time in the national rankings during Eberly's tenure, beginning with a final ranking of No. 19 after the 2016 season. The team earned its highest mark (No. 4) in 2017, when it finished the season with a 41-8 record and a No. 8 national ranking.

Eberly became the winningest coach in CCM history during the 2018 season, and his teams averaged over 31 wins per year over his last four full seasons. He coached 21 players who moved on to the NCAA Division I ranks and three Major League Baseball draft picks.

Eberly's resume includes experience as an Associate Scout for the Atlanta Braves, and he has also coached in the collegiate summer ranks with the Jersey Pilots of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League. Prior to his time at Morris, he coached at the high school level at Roxbury (N.J.) High School.

A 2002 graduate of Lock Haven University, Eberly played four seasons as an infielder for the Bald Eagles. During his time at LHU, he was named a team captain and a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete while twice helping the school set school records for wins. Additionally, Eberly earned a master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton.

Eberly resides in Mount Olive, with his wife Kira, and their daughters, Alexa and Raelynn.
