Saint John's (Minn.) wrapped up the Ft. Myers portion of its spring-break trip with a doubleheader split against Hiram. The Johnnies (4-5) cruised to a 7-1 win in game one, but spotted the Terriers (1-2) five runs in the first inning of game two in an eventual 8-7 defeat, SJU's third one-run loss of the season.

No. 2 ranked Marietta broke open a close game with seven runs in its final two at bats to defeat Misericordia by the score of 10-2 Tuesday afternoon at the Snowbird Baseball Classic. Zach Marzetz started and pitched 3.0 innings giving up two runs on four hits. He walked one and struck out one. Isaac Danford threw 2.2 innings of shutout relief striking out three and allowing one hits before turning the game over to Sam Mathews. Mathews (1-0) tossed 3.1 innings of one-hit relief for the win. Joe Valenti (0-1) started and took the loss for Misericordia. Logan Vietmeier finished the game 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Catsle had a double, single and three RBI, while Hill was 2-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored.

Averett knocked of No. 7 University of Lynchburg in a 1-0 gem from junior right-hander David Asbill on Tuesday afternoon at Owen-Fulton Field. Asbill (1-1) allowed just one hit in 7.2 innings while striking out a career-high eight batters to help Averett (3-10) upend the nationally ranked Hornets. Averett broke a scoreless tie in the fifth. After senior Nate Tuck drew a leadoff walk and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt, sophomore Brandt Brophy drew a one-out walk to put to aboard for senior Brandon Hatcher. After Tuck and Brophy executed a double steal, Hatcher singled to right field to bring home Tuck to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead over Lynchburg (10-2). That one run of support proved to be enough for Asbill, who avoided trouble by taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning.

Senior first baseman Peter Cosentino had three doubles and six runs batted in as Montclair State scored every in inning between the first and last in a 17-2 victory over Bridgewater State on Tuesday afternoon. SU also set a school record with 11 doubles in the game, including three by Cosentino, who tied the single-game mark. Montclair broke the previous team mark of nine versus John Carroll in 2010. The 11 doubles by the Red Hawks was one shy of the D-III record for a game.

Senior first baseman Brian Wickman and first-year pitcher Evan Blair highlighted the Washington and Lee's 6-5 comeback win over No. 18 Shenandoah on Tuesday evening. Trailing by a score of 4-1 heading to the bottom of the sixth, the Generals (7-5) began their comeback with a pair of runs to pull back within a run. In the seventh, W&L added three more runs, all with two outs, to gain a 6-4 advantage. The Hornets (10-4) threatened for more offense after a lead-off double by graduate third baseman Ryan Clawson. However, Blair (1-1) proceeded to force a pop out and two consecutive strikeouts to end the game and give W&L the win.

Seven of nine batters in the starting nine collected at least one hit, including five hitters with multiple hits and senior Stephen Quigley struck out a career-high 13 batters to help No. 12 Wheaton College (Mass.) to a 16-3 victory over host Nichols College this afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Mass. Wheaton pounded out 14 hits and scored three or more runs in three different innings and has now scored 30 runs on 33 hits in its first two games of the season. The Lyons also took advantage of five Nichols errors.

A pair of big innings and a solid outing from Jordan Gray powered TCNJ to an 11-2 victory over Albright in non-conference action on Tuesday. Nine players had at least one hit and eight scored a run for the Lions (2-0), who put up another lopsided victory before heading south to Florida for spring break. TCNJ scored four runs in the third and four more in the fifth to blow it open and provide plenty of support for Gray, who delivered a career-high six strikeouts over six strong innings.

Playing their fourth game in as many days, Concordia Chicago took to the field on Tuesday morning against the Britons of Albion. The Cougars found themselves trailing going into the bottom of the seventh, but they were able to plate four runs with two outs in the seventh to tie the game. CUC then had the highlight of the season thus far when first-year Tyler Dorsch hit a walk-off homer to left in his first collegiate at-bat to give CUC a 7-6 win.

Wilkes University defeated Gettysburg College 13-2 on Tuesday afternoon to improve to 7-0 on the season as the Colonels continued their Spring Break Trip. It is the best start to a season for the Colonels in the live stats era dating back to at least 2009. Gettysburg dropped to 1-4 on the season. Brandon Reno run-scoring double was the 100th hit of Reno's career in a Wilkes uniform and his 144th overall. Shortlidge (1-0) went 6.1 innings in his debut. He allowed just four hits and one run with one walk and four strikeouts. Sawyer Kemp pitched the final 2.2 innings for the Colonels as he allowed five hits and one run with two strikeouts.

Crown looked sharp in game one vs Gordon College, showing off all phases of the game in dominating 11-1 fashion. The offense started fast for the Storm as Kyle Schroedle got the scoring started with a two-run shot to left field. On the mound Jacob Crowley was great, going for 5 strong innings while only giving up 1 earned run and striking out 4. Caleb Keen then came on in relief and gave Crown two really strong scoreless innings out of the pen to help cap off an 11-1 win in game 1. Game 2 however was a different story; Gordon took an early lead but late singles in the sixth came just a bit too late for Crown as Gordon would go on to take game 2 by a score of 7-4.

Dave Mangold hit a two-run homer in the seventh to bring Lebanon Valley within one run, and then Mike Bulgia hit a go-ahead single in the eighth as the Dutchmen fought back to defeat Bluffton University 7-6 on Tuesday in Port Charlotte. The Beaver (1-4) scored twice in the second inning and then two more in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead. The Dutchmen (2-4) responded with a two-spot in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead down to 4-2. Bluffton added a run in the fifth and eighth innings but LVC rallied with two in the seventh and a huge three-run eighth to come away with the victory.

On Tuesday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium, St. Scholastica split a non-conference doubleheader against fellow MIAC foe, the Knights from Carleton College. The Saints were silenced in the first game, with Carleton's Kiefer Lord striking out 15 Saints in a 5-0 setback. In the second game of the day, the Saints scored four runs early and were able to fight off a comeback attempt by the Knights to split the doubleheader, 6-4. The first game of today's doubleheader saw the Saints unable to get any offense generated. Carleton (1-1) pitcher Kiefer Lord struck out 15 Saints batters. In the second game this afternoon, Carleton pounced first but in the top of the second inning, the Saints' bats came alive. Matt Tautges led off the top of the seventh with a double down the right field line, in an attempt to give the Saints an insurance run going into the bottom of the seventh. Tautges advanced to third on a groundout and was driven in on a sacrifice fly by Schemenauer and gave the Saints the insurance run they needed going into the bottom of the seventh. Wes Kemming had pitched the past two innings, and was given the task to finish off the Knights and earn the save. Kemming allowed a single with one out, but then picked off the runner at first and stole all the momentum the Knights had of tying the game, as Kemming shut down the rest of the seventh and gave the Saints their first win of the season at 6-4.

Daniel Kahn nearly doubled his season RBI total and the Wildcat pitching staff shut down NAIA Bushnell in an 11-1 rout of the Beacons on a brisk Tuesday night at Roy Helser Field. Kahn went 2 for 5 while driving in five, bringing his season total to 11 RBI. He opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-run double to left-center field to score Tanner Jacques and Mike LaVigne. He blew the game open in the fourth with another double to left-center that sent three more runs across the plate. Nick Alder picked up the win on the mound to improve to 2-0 on the season. He allowed just one hit and struck out three in two innings of work. Gage Mack also claimed three batters via strikeout. Bushnell starter Ethan Sachs took the loss after allowing four runs, three earned in the first inning.

Julio Acosta delivered the go-ahead two-run single in the top of the 10th inning to lift Keystone College past Fontbonne 12-10 in extra innings on Tuesday in the Giants' opening game of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The victory snapped a five-game losing skid for Keystone, as the Giants move to 2-5. The Griffins fall to 3-6. With the contest tied at 10-all, Acosta came through in the top of the 10th with a two-out, two-run single to left field to score RJ Gouldsbury and JD Barrett, giving Keystone a 12-10 edge. In the bottom of the frame, Fontbonne threatened with bases loaded and two outs, but the Giants were able to shut the door.

Thomas came back on Tuesday to defeat Penn State Altoona 10-3 in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational at Northeast Regional Park. The Lions (3-4) led 3-1 through five-and-a-half innings, but Thomas (1-4) surged into the lead by scoring a total of nine runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.

Stevenson (4-9-1) returned to the win column defeating McDaniel by a score of 6-2 Tuesday afternoon at Sugar Field with strong pitching and defensive performances. On the mound, starter Cameron Nebel went six strong innings picking up his first-career victory. In the outing, Nebel allowed only two runs on two hits, and struck out four. After allowing runners to reach in the first and second innings, Nebel retired the next six Green Terror hitters in order with strong defense at his back. Nebel forced a double play to end a threat in the second and second baseman Brandon Perillo dove to snag a dying line drive that was a sure hit in the top of the third. The Mustang defense continued to stand stout throughout the game and did not commit an error in the nine-inning affair.

Catholic rallied to knock off Gwynedd Mercy in extra innings on Tuesday at the Ripken Experience, 4-3. Freshman Lucas Malave delivered the goods in the bottom of the 10th inning, when he drew a bases-loaded walk to force across the game-winning run. Malave had a strong day at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double and drawing two walks, including that which secured the game-winning RBI.

New Jersey City University captured its first victory on their 2022 Spring Trip after defeating the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears 19-9. It was the most runs this offense has scored since March 24, 2019, against The College of Staten Island, in which they also won 19-9. In this offensive explosion for the Gothic Knights, the squad had four different hitters record two or more hits and five different NJCU sluggers knock in two or more runs. Freshman first baseman Matt Kaliske had a career day for Jersey City, finishing with four hits and five RBI. These were all career marks for the young Gothic Knight, who now leads the team in batting (.463) and RBI (7), despite missing two games.

In an unusual 5:30 a.m. first pitch for opening day, Bethel found themselves down a run early in game one before forcing extras and defeating Wisconsin-Stout 5-1 in eight innings. Comeback efforts were needed again in game two erasing a late four-run deficit with crooked numbers in the fifth and sixth taking game two 10-5. Justin Winterfeldt went a combined 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles and four RBI, two in each game. Matthew Carlsen in game two was a force to be reckoned with in the leadoff spot coming up a single shy of the cycle while driving in five runs and crossing the plate three times himself.

Buena Vista batted around and scored eight times in the eighth inning on Tuesday afternoon to overcome a 7-2 deficit and knock off Bethany Lutheran 10-7 at the Kino Sports Complex.The Vikings held a 2-1 lead to start the sixth inning before scoring four times to extend it to a 6-1 contest. Both teams then traded runs in the seventh before BVU exploded with a big eighth. Joel Garcia finished 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBI and is now hitting .545 on the year (12-for-22) with eight doubles and 13 RBI. Evan Taylor was 2-for-3 with a triple and is also hitting over .520 on the year.

Neumann used a 10-run first inning to defeat Stockton 14-10 on Tuesday afternoon. Ryan Lopez went 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and an RBI. Marcus White was 2-for-2 with three RBI and three runs scored. Zach Mullins started the game and went the first 4.0 innings. He allowed four unearned runs on three hits. Vic Meija pitched the fifth inning and allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit. Brian Van Etten couldn't get an out in the sixth, allowing four runs on five hits. Brennan Hatala came in and went 2.0 innings and allowed just one hit. The game was called after seven innings due to darkness.

On a day where Texas-Dallas cracked the Top 10 national rankings for possibly the first time in its 20-year history, the Comets scraped together an 8-7 non-conference win over Southwestern Tuesday afternoon at the UTD Baseball Complex. The Comets (13-1) but had to take advantage of some wild Pirate pitching to pull out the victory despite managing just five base hits. Southwestern (4-5) hurlers contributed nine walks, five hit batters, three wild pitches and a balk that allowed UTD to rally from deficits three different times in the game and claim the win. The Comets' deciding run, in fact, scored with two outs in the 7th when UTD loaded the bases on a fielder's choice and a pair of walks, and Ramon Garza took a pitch off his back to score Deylan Moreno. Prior to that, designated hitter Brayshon Savage had delivered a clutch RBI single through the right side to tie the game for the third time. 

Thiel College defeated the Alvernia Golden Wolves, 11-10, in a thriller at Terry Park in the Gene Cusic Classic. In the eighth, Alex Lutz and the Tomcats' defense blanked the Golden Wolves. In the Tomcats' half, Nick Jacobs scored the tying run on a balk to bring the game to 10-10. In the ninth inning, Lutz got two quick outs, let up a single, but stranded the runner with a strikeout. In the bottom of the ninth with two outs, bases empty, and the game still tied, Seth Johnson crushed a ball that carried over the left field fence for a walk-off home run to complete the Tomcats' comeback in the 11-10 victory. Alvernia defeated Haverford 8-3 earlier in the day.

Nebraska Wesleyan won a wild shootout, 17-12, over Dominican University in Auburndale, Florida. NWU has won three straight games on their Spring Break roadtrip in Florida. After giving up three runs to start the opening inning, the Prairie Wolves answered with three runs in third then added two more runs in the fifth. NWU then extended its lead to 8-3 after a three-run fifth inning. After DU countered with eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Nebraska Wesleyan cut back into the lead with a run in the sixth. Dominican answered with another run before NWU's offense went off. In the final two innings of the game, the Prairie Wolves scored eight runs including six in the top of the ninth.
