Castleton put together their best offensive performance in recent memory in their matchup against RPI Sunday afternoon, scoring a season-high 17 runs — including four in the ninth inning — to earn a huge 17-15 win over the Engineers. Hunter Perkins played hero ball in the contest, going 4-7 and tallying three runs, a career-high five RBIs and the eventual game-clinching home run — his first of the year — in the top of the ninth to hand the Spartans their fifth win on the year.

Moravian University posted a 4-0 win over visiting Juniata College at Gillespie Field Sunday afternoon to win the Landmark Conference series behind a four-hit shutout from senior pitcher Eddie Olsen. The Greyhounds scored the only run Olsen ended up needing in the bottom of the first inning. Junior catcher Derek Holmes had an RBI single through the left side as Mason Fisher raced home from second base. Olsen allowed one walk in addition to the four hits, and he also recorded seven strikeouts to increase his career mark to 113, which is the 13th highest total in program history. Olsen also improved to 11-9 in his career for the Hounds with his sixth career complete game. The shutout was the first of Olsen's career, and the first complete-game shutout by a single Moravian pitcher since April 7, 2018 when Rhett Jacoby posted a 2-0 win at Susquehanna University.

The Mass Maritime Buccaneers hosted NVU-Lyndon for a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Hendy Field. In an attempt to save some arms with five games in four days beginning on Sunday, Brodey Tinkham and Sam Huffman provided complete games in 5-1 and 17-0 wins over the Hornets. Tinkham and Huffmann combined to allow six hits, one walk and 18 strikeouts.

The Knox Prairie Fire picked up their first win of the season on Sunday with a 3-2 victory over Wisconsin-Superior. Kendall Ballman hit a two-run homer in the second inning to give Knox an early lead. The Yellowjackets battled back with two runs in the fourth inning to tie the game up at 2-2. Etienne Thomas worked a two-out walk in the bottom of the seventh inning and a pair of single by Flynn Hersh and Evan Laws brought him around to score the go ahead run. Starting pitcher Matt Shover was stellar all game, but really turned it on in the final innings to earn the complete game victory. He allowed just one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out 10. "We played a complete game today," said associate head coach James Clark. "We didn't have our best game."

They will be calling this the miracle in Glendale for years as MSOE defeated UW-Oshkosh 11-8 in the second game of a doubleheader. The Raiders lost the opener 3-0. MSOE entered the ninth inning down 6-0 and the visiting Titans added a run to bring the score to 7-0. At this point MSOM had scored no runs in 17 innings of play, having only five hits on the day. In the bottom of the ninth, they exploded for seven runs on four hits to move the game into extra innings. After the Titans score a run to retake the lead, MSOE went back to work, with a one-out single to tie the score and a three run walk off home run by Blake Hall to shock the visiting team. Hall entered the game as a pinch hitter in the ninth and went 2-for-2 with 5 RBI a double and home run.

Bethany College hosted the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Bobcats for a non-conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Bethany Park. The Bison earned the sweep with wins 5-3 and 3-2. in the opener, the Bison took a 5-1 lead after two innings of play. The Bobcats attempted to comeback, but the Bison held the Bobcats to three runs. Mark Lavezza earned his third win on the season, pitching 6.1 innings with five strikeouts. Zach Nolf earned the save for his second of the season. Nolf struckout two batters in the seventh. Bethany took an early lead again and had to hold on as the Bobcats attempted to make a comeback in the seventh. Bison pitcher Trey Mantle and the Bison defense got out of the jam. Mantle earned his first win of the season pitching 7.0 innings, giving up seven hits, two runs (one earned) and struck out five.t the plate, but we battled and put the ball in play when it mattered. Wins like this are what make a team good and we have so much more in the tank."

Freshman first baseman Daniel Trzepacz led the way for Rhode Island College in a doubleheader sweep of Coast Guard, 22-1; 15-2 at Pontarelli Field on Sunday afternoon. RIC jumped on the Bears early and often, knocking in 11 runs through the first three innings, en route to a convincing win. In game two, RIC once again scored 11 runs through three innings and the home run power was on display once again. Cameron Santerre finished 4-for-8 on the day with four runs scored, four RBI, two homers and a stolen base. Trzepacz went 6-for-9 with seven runs scored, five RBI, two doubles, a grand slam and a stolen base.

Senior Jack Thomson had a huge day at the plate to help Lewis & Clark College earn the series win over host George Fox University with a 5-4 win on Sunday afternoon. Thomson went 3-3 with two runs, two RBI, two intentional walks and his team-leading ninth homer of the season in the victory. The Pioneers All-Conference third baseman played a key part in all three innings Lewis & Clark scored in, to help the visitors earn the series victory 2-1. Jack Savant (one run) and Zack Kon each went 2-4 in the victory. Riley Guieb and Mason Lee chipped in a hit and a run scored apiece.

Benedictine University won a second consecutive contest in Florida, shutting down Elmhurst 11-0. Justin Sosa threw six shutout innings to win his second contest of the year, allowing just four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts. The pitching staff struck out 16 in the game with Simon Herold fanning four in two innings and Andrew Tenison struck out the side in the ninth. Benedictine tallied 16 hits in the win with eight different players collected a hit with six picking up more than one.

Keystone opened the defense of its 12-consecutive Colonial State Athletic Conference championships by splitting a conference-opening twinbill at Wilson College Sunday afternoon at Henninger Field. The Phoenix (12-3, 1-1 CSAC) took game one versus the Giants (6-10, 1-1 CSAC) by a final score of 3-1, but fell in the night cap by a final score of 4-3. For Wilson in game one, Dean Mercer paced the offense with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate with 3 RBI and a run scored. The Phoenix would strand two runners on base in the sixth and eighth innings and left the tying run on base in the ninth as the Giants closed out the 4-3 win in the nightcap.

St. Olaf College picked up its first win of the season with a 7-2 victory in game two after Wartburg College took game one, 4-3, in extra innings on Sunday afternoon at Harms Stadium at Hertel Field. In the opener, sophomore Joey Glampe followed a double by fifth-year senior Matthew Muller with a one of his own to give St. Olaf (1-2) a 3-2 lead in the eighth, but Wartburg (8-7) scored twice in the home half of the inning to claim a walk-off, extra-inning win. In game two, senior Sam Westermeyer struck out seven over five strong innings and Muller broke a 1-1 tie with a bases-clearing, three-run double in the fifth to lead the Oles to their first victory of the spring.

Marywood University balanced strong starting pitching, solid relief work and hefty bats as the Pacers swept John Jay College Sunday afternoon in non-conference baseball action. The Pacers took their home openers 12-1 and 8-1, improving to 9-3 on the year and extending their win streak to five games. The Pacers used a pair of five run innings in the opener to cruise to the win. Marywood plated five in both the first and fourth. On the mound, Nick Notari (2-0) allowed one unearned run in four innings. He struck out one and gave up three hits. From there, four pitchers struck out three and allowed just one hit in three innings of relief work to secure the victory. In game two, Michael Aronica (3-1) used just 54 pitches over five innings to tame the Bloodhounds. Aronica struck out four and allowed just three hits. TJ Lacey and Matthew Klipple each pitched one inning and each struck out two without allowing a hit.

Penn State Harrisburg defeated United East rival Penn State Abington twice on Sunday afternoon to complete the three-game weekend sweep of their conference foe. The Lions held on for a 5-3 victory in the opener before a Matt Parks' walk-off solo home run proved the difference in a 1-0, 11-inning win in the nightcap. After a Ryan McCarty fielder's choice drove in a run in the top of the fifth in game one, starting pitcher Zach Gettys came through with an inning-ending strikeout to strand a pair of runners. Reliever Kevin Maiolo pitched a scoreless top of the sixth before Danny Eden secured the save by stranding two more Penn State Abington runners in the seventh. A pitcher's duel for much of the day, Penn State Harrisburg starter Hunter Merritt and Penn State Abington's Justin Himmelreich were outstanding for the entirety of their outings, as was Penn State Harrisburg reliever Tyler Stabley. Not until Himmelreich exited after nine innings did the hometown Lions finally push the game-winning run across.

In its return from Florida, the New York University swept a doubleheader against Lehman College with a pair of convincing victories at Maimonides Park in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon. The Violets won game one 24-5 and took game two 12-0, both ending after five innings of play. NYU is one of seven undefeated teams in all of Division III with a 9-0 record on the young season. The Violets are off to their second-best start in program history since becoming a Division III varsity program in 2015. NYU won 12 straight to open the 2018 campaign. The Violets' offense erupted in the first inning, scoring 14 runs on just four hits as Lehman committed five errors in the frame on their way to the game one win. in the nightcap the NYU's offense stayed hot with four Violet batters with multpile hit games.

Brandeis University grad student 1B Mike Khoury continued his hot hitting today, going 6-for-9 with a pair of home runs, five RBI and six runs scored today as the Judges defeated visiting Bates College, 7-6 and 21-9, in a pair of non-conference games on Stein Diamond. With the wins, the Judges improve to 5-2, while the Bobcats fall to 2-8. In the opener, Khoury went 3-for-5 with his fifth home run of the season, a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Included among his RBI was a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning. In the second contest, Khoury went 3-for-4 with another double and home run, three RBI and four runs. With his two homers today, Khoury moved into a tie for third place on Brandeis's career list with 24, while his career RBI total increased to 99. In addition to Khoury's big day, grad student Dan Frey had an impressive offensive showing. After going 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two run scored in the opener, Frey nearly hit for the cycle in game two. He only needed a single, going 3-for-4 with a grand slam in the fourth inning, a two-run double in the seventh and a two-run triple in the eight. The eight RBIs Frey had in the game were the most by a Brandeis player since at least 2005. Frey also scored four runs.

Augustana (11-3) won their third game in as many
days on Sunday morning with a decisive 15-2 victory
over the Southern Maine Huskies (3-8). Augustana
saw little resistance at the plate as they put together
four multi-run innings and held USM to just five hits.

Randolph-Macon completed a weekend sweep of Guilford with another powerful showing and scoring at least 20 runs in both games. This time the Yellow Jackets wasted no time and put up a nine-spot in the bottom of the first en route to the 24-2 victory. Guilford scored first with one of its runs crossing in the top of the first, but the lead was short-lived after the Lemon and Black exploded for nine runs in the bottom half of the frame. The Lemon and Black scored multiple runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to put the game out of reach. Defensively Hayden Snelsire was effective in his start and improved to 3-1 with the win. He allowed two runs, none earned, on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five innings of work. The Yellow Jackets' 24 runs were scored on 24 hits and three Guilford errors. The hits and runs easily were easily new marks for season bests.

Willamette University jumped out to an early lead and then relied on solid pitching and strong defense to turn back visiting Whitworth, 10-3, on Sunday at John Lewis Field. The Bearcats swept the three-game series with the Pirates and won their fifth straight to improve to 11-8 overall and 9-6 in the Northwest Conference. Whitworth dropped to 4-19 overall and 3-9 in the NWC. Samuel Daly led Willamette at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and the three-run homer. Six other Bearcats had lone hits on the day while Trey Topping and Ethan Fischel each added two RBIs and reached on a pair of walks. Wagner tallied three RBIs with his round tripper as well while throwing out a pair of runners at home and third in the first and second innings. Five Bearcats went to the mound, combining for seven strikeouts while allowing three walks. Ben Kowalski recorded three strikeouts to close out the game in a pair of hitless innings. The Bearcat defense did not commit an error and turned three double plays on the afternoon.

Saint John's opened its home schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Crown, 3-1 and 6-5, on Sunday at Haugen Field at Becker Park. The Johnnies (7-9 overall) received a complete-game effort from senior pitcher Nathan Brandecker in game one and earned the walk-off win in the nightcap. Brandecker allowed seven hits, six singles, to improve to 3-0 on the season. He struck out six and did not issue a free pass. In game two, Soren Roe launched a 3-1 pitch over the left-field fence for the walk-off homer, his second long ball of the season and sixth as a Johnnie for the walk off win. He has now reached base safely in all 16 of SJU's games so far in 2022.

Purchase College opened Skyline Conference play in a big way Sunday afternoon, besting Yeshiva University in a pair of road games. The Panthers secured the wins by the scores of 5-0 and 19-3, and now sit at 4-7 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Meanwhile, the Maccabees dropped to 2-9 and 0-6, respectively. The opening game of the day started quickly for the Panthers, as the guests tallied three runs in the first frame. While the extra runs were nice for the offense, the Panthers' starting pitcher, Alex Doskoez, only needed a single run of support, as the he tossed a complete-game seven-inning shutout in the win. The senior finished with six strikeouts and allowed just four hits in the effort. After a relatively-close matchup in game one, the Panthers' offense responded with its best performance of the season to blowout the Maccabees in game two. Louis Carvell led the way with three hits, including a triple, three RBIs and a run scored.

Hilbert College battled through rainy conditions to come away with a hard fought split against Sage College on Sunday afternoon. Hilbert won game one 8-4 but fell to Sage 8-5 in the nightcap. Michael Contini took the mound for his second start of the season in game one. As the southpaw held the Gator hitters scoreless in three of his four innings pitched, Hilbert's offense went to work early. Reliever Brendan Walsh closed it out for the Hawks to secure his first save of the season. In game two. Both offenses caught fire over the final two frames as Sage put up six runs and Hilbert scored three runs. Jaylen Cuevas earned the win for Sage as he pitched the fifth inning.

Pacific Lutheran University maintained its perch atop the Northwest Conference standings on Sunday, dispatching crosstown rival University of Puget Sound 6-2 for the Lutes' first series sweep of the NWC season. Cole Trotignon did it all on Sunday, striking out five in 7 1/3 innings on the mound for the win while belting his fifth home run of the season at the plate. Andy Schmitz finished two-for-five with two runs scored while Jordan Haworth was two-for-three with two RBis and two runs scored. On the mound, Trotignon fanned five and allowed just one walk to earn the decision while Noah Ferguson was lights out for the second consecutive day, tossing the final 1 2/3 innings and allowing just one hit and no walks while netting three punchouts.

Transylvania finished their sixth and seventh games of the week on a strong note, as they swept the University of Chicago Maroons on a doubleheader Sunday. The Pioneers took game one by a 10-0 mercy rule finish in the seventh inning, and kept up the pace in game two, winning 11-5. In game one, freshman Lee Watson started on the mound and was dealing from the first pitch. Besides the high offensive output, Watson had an outstanding day on the mound for Transy, as he pitched all 7 innings of the contest, only allowing two hits and three walks, to go along with seven strikeouts. In game two, the Maroons plated the first run in the top of the first, but their lead didn't last long as Trent Youngblood sent a drive to right center for a two-run homer. The power showcase continued as TJ Keck went opposite field for another home run, putting Transy ahead 3-1. Chicago went up 5-4 in the fourth, but in the bottom of the fifth Youngblood blasted a two run no-doubter to right. The homer, his second of the day, also marked the sophomore's 100th career hit. From there, the Pioneer bullpen locked down to protect the lead.

After losing a one-run game in the series opener on Saturday, Wilmington College battled back to win two close games on Sunday, taking game one 2-1 in seven innings and winning the nightcap 5-3. Asbury couldn't solve Aaron Boster as the sophomore earned a complete-game victory with a 1-2-3 seventh inning. Boster tallied eight strikeouts and allowed four hits with four walks in the seven innings to improve to 2-2 on the season. Alec Lush dipped to 3-2 on the season, allowing a single earned run on three hits with five walks and three strikeouts. Leading 4-3 in game two, Wilmington added an insurance run on an RBI-single from Jacob Kalt in the eighth, and the Quakers' bullpen, which has struggled this season, kept a clean slate the final five innings.
