No. 6 Cortland finished off a sweep of the Plattsburg Cardinals with a 22-13 win. The Red Dragons fell behind 4-0 but captured the lead and locked the win in with a pair of seven run innings to close out the game.

After coming off an impressive offensive output yesterday, the Panthers kept the same momentum they built yesterday in to today. BSC recorded 13 hits as they defeated Oglethorpe 9-7 and swept their second straight series. Unlike yesterday, the Stormy Petrels got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. The lead did not last long as Birmingham-Southern responded with three runs in the top of the second inning. BSC recorded five hits in the inning all being singles. Joey White threw a scoreless next two innings helping the Panthers extend their lead. BSC scored a run in the third and generated four runs in the fourth to take a 8-1 lead. Two runs in the fourth inning came off the bat of Ian Hancock who smashed a two-run homerun, his third of the weekend. The Panthers scored a run in the fifth and that is all they scored the rest of the game. Luckily, that is all they would need. Oglethorpe fought back into the game scratching across two runs in the fifth and seventh innings to cut the lead 8-6. They added a run in the eighth to pull within one, but could not muster a complete comeback as Davis Williams shut the Stormy Petrels down in the ninth to secure BSC's sixth straight victory, and second straight conference sweep.

The fifth-ranked University of Lynchburg clubbed five home runs Saturday on its way to an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep of Guilford. The Hornets won the opener, 21-10, and took the finisher by an 11-3 tally. Garrett Jackson and Avery Neaves collected six hits and two homers apiece for the Hornets, and leadoff man Cameron Lane set the table effectively, reaching base on nine of his 12 plate appearances. afte a 5-5 first inning, the Hornets took the lead for good in the second. GC cut the lead to 8-7, but Lynchburg rebounded with five runs in the third, one in the fourth and eighth, and six more in the ninth to roll to a series-opening win. Lynchburg's pitching left less doubt in Game 2. Neaves opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first, and Riley O'Donovan homered in the second to keep Lynchburg out in front. Neaves added two more home runs later in the game, and Jackson hit his second of the day in the fourth. Nick Mattfield earned the win in Game 2 with six innings of three-run ball, striking out six.

No. 7 Rowan split a doubleheader with Ramapo, rallying to win the first game, 3-2, and falling in the second game, 14-7. The split moves the Profs' record to 21-6 and 7-2 in the league. Ryan Mostrangeli scored the tying run and Chris Curcio drove home the winning run as the Profs fought back to defeat Ramapo, 3-2, in the first game. Ramapo jumped right out in the first inning with a grand slam by Sean Donaghue and proceeded to go up, 6-0, in the third and 8-1 in the fifth. The Profs had 13 hits in the game, but Ramapo was able to score 14 runs on just 15 hits.

No. 17 UW-Stevens Point (18-4, 9-3) split a
doubleheader with UW-Stout (15-9, 10-4) on
Saturday. UWSP won game one by a 6-3 final
before falling in game two, 8-3.

Splitting their first doubleheader of the season, No. 8 North Central College defeated North Park University, 7-5 in game one before falling in game two, 5-13 on Saturday at Zimmerman Stadium. In the opener, North Central bounced back in the top half of the sixth, Rob Marinec singled down the left field line to score Listi before Trey Roach hit an RBI single to plate Beverly. Closing out a three run inning, Michael Patterson drew a bases loaded walk to score Marinec and take a 7-5 lead. Again Deischer came up with an important out as he picked off Bobby Bartlett at first base with runners on second and third. The Cardinal pitching staff held North Park scoreless the rest of the way to secure the 7-5 victory. In the nightcap, North Park scored six runs on six hits in the top of the fifth to take control of the game. The Vikings added two more runs in the seventh before Oberli singled to plate Wojcik in the eighth inning. Each team scored one more run as the Vikings cruised to a 13-5 victory in game two.

No. 10 Salisbury University stayed red-hot by sweeping a doubleheader against Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference rival Christopher Newport, besting the Captains 4-1 and 7-2 to extend its winning streak to 12 games on Saturday afternoon at Captains Park. CNU finally broke up Jimmy Adkins' shutout in the ninth. Adkins didn't let it go any further, though, going the distance for the fourth time in his career to seal the deal. Adkins (3-1) finished what he started, surrendering one run on six hits in a full nine innings of work. He walked one and struck out nine on 132 pitches and at one point retired 10 batters in a row in the third through sixth frames. The complete game is the second for a Sea Gull starter this season after Xavier Marmol went the distance on March 27 against Hood. Adkins now has four complete games in his collegiate career after pitching his first since April 22, 2019. Kavi Caster finished off a monster week by going 2-for-3 with his seventh home run of the season in game two. Caster socked three round-trippers and drove in 12 runs over the Sea Gulls' four games during the week. Jackson Balzan (7-1) won his seventh straight start with another sterling effort, allowing two runs on six hits over eight innings. Balzan walked one and struck out 10 on 111 pitches.

No. 11 ranked UW-Whitewater moved into a virtual tie for first place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings Saturday with a pair of wins at UW-La Crosse. The Warhawks (19-6 overall, 11-3 WIAC), who are now tied in the loss column with UW-Stevens Point, defeated the Eagles 12-5 in the opener before taking the second game by a 9-6 score. In Game 1, UW-Whitewater took the lead for good in the top of the fifth inning and tallied eight unanswered runs for a commanding eight-run lead through 7 1/2 frames. In Game 2, the Warhawks never trailed after posting five first-inning runs.

This afternoon the 12th ranked Webster University was back in action when they traveled to Elsah, Illinois, to take on the Principia College Panthers for a SLIAC doubleheader. The Gorloks swept the doubleheader as they won the first game by a final score of 16-5 and the second game by a final score of 10-0 to improve to 21-5 on the season and 9-2 in SLIAC play. With the sweep, the Panthers fall to 2-16 on the season and 0-8 in conference play. Webster put together 14 hits in the first game of the day. They continued to put the ball in play as the game progressed and rallied for 12 runs in the top of the fourth and one run in the top of the fifth to take a 16-0 advantage. The Panthers battled back and scored five runs in the final three innings, but the damage was done as the Gorloks picked up the final outs to solidify the win. Webster carried over their momentum into the second game and put together 13 hits in the contest. EVan Evola hit a three-run homerun in the top of the third and RJ LaRocco hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth to put Webster up 9-0. Mitch Daniels finished off the scoring for Webster as he scored on a wild pitch to solidify the win.

No. 14 Arcadia University moved its win streak to six, finishing off its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom sweep of Delaware Valley University after taking game one 19-1 and game two 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Knights' offense overpowered Aggie pitching, scoring six runs in the fifth, two in the sixth, and three in the seventh. Nick Fossile started on the mound for the Knights improving his record to 4-0, pitching the first five innings allowing one run on three hits, with four strikeouts and one walk. Mitch Whitney and Colin Bowdish each pitched one scoreless inning to finish off the game for the Knights. The Knights stayed hot heading into the second game. Hunter Sibley started game two for the Knights, improving his record to 5-1, pitching the first six innings allowing one run on four hits, with four strikeouts and two walks. Owen Margolis came in to pitch the last inning allowing no hits or runs with one strikeout for the save.

Bowdoin completed the series sweep of No. 15 Tufts with 7-5 and 12-5 wins on Saturday. The Polar Bears (11-13, 4-2 NESCAC) had not taken a series from the Jumbos (17-6, 4-4 NESCAC) since sweeping Tufts back in 2012. In game one, the Polar Bears exploded for four runs in the fourth and held the Jumbos scoreless through their final three at-bats. The Jumbos again took a first inning lead with a run to begin the game but like the opener, could not close out the win. Bowdoin took its first lead of the game in the sixth and used the bottom half of the inning to extend its lead once again. Gabe Peckler capped the scoring with a three-run homer to right center in the eighth inning.

No. 18 Aurora University hosted Milwaukee School of Engineering Saturday afternoon at Jim Schmid field in Montgomery, Illinois. The Spartans swept the conference doubleheader, winning game one 3-1 and game two 12-2 (8 inn.). Both pitchers kept the opposing offenses off balance through the first half of game one. Tied 1-1, 2 two out solo home run from Jett Wedekind in the eights provided the winning margin. The two out rally continued with Dylan White's triple to right center. After a pitching change was made by MSOE, Justin Sartori would drive in Dylan White on a single to center field and AU led 3-1. Seth Gutknecht came in the top of the ninth to get the save for the Spartans, his first of the season. MSOE threatened in the eighth of the nightcap, but Spartan Tyler Preissing would hold the Raiders to two runs. Nico Bermeo singled up the middle to score Meinert and Saratori to seal the 12-2 run rule victory.

Trinity's 19th-ranked team completed a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend series sweep by taking both ends of a Saturday afternoon doubleheader at Schreiner University. The Tigers ran their winning streak to 14 games with the two wins today, which puts their overall record at 24-7 heading into the final two weeks of the regular season schedule. Trinity is also 14-1 in SCAC play, which is tied for the top spot in the league. Trinity won game one 11-2 over Schreiner, then held off the home team with a 15-8 win in game two. Samuel Conte scattered six hits over eight innings in the opening game, striking out 11 batters to improve to 4-1 this season. Harrison Durow struck out six batters over 3.1 innings in relief in game two and is now 5-0 on the season. MJ Metz collected five hits and five RBI over the two games, hitting a home run in the first, followed by a double and a triple in the second. Nathan Braulick went 4-for-9 in the doubleheader, scoring four runs to go with four RBI, as well as hitting two doubles and a triple.

No. 21 Oswego State completed a series sweep against SUNY Oneonta, winning 8-6 on Saturday. This contest had nothing short of dramatics as the Lakers pulled off a comeback win in extra innings. After trailing Oneonta most of the game, Oswego managed to tie the game in the ninth inning. Tishawn Featherstone's clutch three-run homer in the 10th inning gave them the well-deserved win 8-6. In the ninth inning, Paul Tammaro singled to right center field to help bring in Brett Meyers for the score, the Lakers cut the Red Dragons lead to 5-4. After an error helped Ryan Enos reach first base, Tammaro was able to cross home plate and tie the game up 5-5 and push the contest to extra innings. Featherstone came up big hitting a three run homer in the top of the 10th inning to give the Lakers their first lead of the contest, 8-5. Oneonta scored a desperation run in the bottom of the 10th but it was not enough.

No. 25 Shenandoah University continued its winning ways Saturday by sweeping an ODAC doubleheader over visiting Ferrum. Shenandoah (23-8-1, 9-4-1 ODAC) was an 8-2 winner over the Panthers (13-20, 2-13) in the opener before completing the sweep with a 3-0 victory in the nightcap. The Hornets took a lead they would not relinquish thanks to a Haden Madagan solo home run in the third before scoring three runs in the fourth and two each in the seventh and eighth on their way to an 8-2 victory. Reilly Owen and Carson Kulina combined on a six-hitter as the Hornets completed the sweep with a 3-0 win. Owen (2-3) needed just 94 pitches in his eight innings of work. He gave up five hits and walked two, but struck out six and benefited from three inning-ending double plays in the first, fourth, and seventh. Kulina worked around a single and a walk in the ninth to post his first save.
