Middlebury used its potent offense to continue its push through the NESCAC Tournament, as the Panthers (28-11) held off Colby 16-14 on Saturday at Trinity. Middlebury, the only unbeaten team left in the tournament, will play again on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. against either the Mules (24-12) or Hamilton. This marks the second time in the last three tournaments held that Middlebury has played for the title. If Middlebury wins tomorrow morning, the team will claim the program's second NESCAC Championship (2006) and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. If the Panthers falter in that game, a winner-take-all contest will be played in the afternoon. Middlebury has been producing big offensive numbers all season, as Saturday's game marked the 17th time this spring it has reached double figures in runs. Through two games this weekend, the Panthers have scored 30 times. Middlebury continued to rewrite the program record book, setting a new mark for at-bats in a season (1,359) and tying the record for games played (39). They play Hamiltopn for the title after the Continentals eliminated Colby 11-3.

No. 20 Shenandoah University is now 27 outs from its fourth ODAC baseball title after beating Roanoke, 5-4, Saturday afternoon at Truist Point. Senior Kyle Lisa, who drove in three runs, drove home Kooper Anderson with the game's winning run with two outs in the ninth to push SU (33-10-1) past Roanoke (25-15). The Hornets opponent will be an upstart Roanoke team that is playing for their playoff lives. Regionally ranked, Roanoke is likely too far down the list to be given an at-large bid on Monday. A second inning run put Roanoke in front early. A triple and fielder's choice would tie the score and both teams would go scoreless the final four innings. In the first extra frame, the Maroons used a hit by pitch and free pass to put a pair of runners on base. After an out, a ground ball would lead to a double play chance. Lynchburg threw the ball away and Roanoke took a 2-1 lead. The Maroons would allow a hit but closed out the 10th for the 2-1 win. In an earlier game Lynchburg eliminated Bridgewater from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament Saturday morning. Zack Potts delivered seven innings of one-run baseball with four Ks and earned the 4-1 win for the seventh-ranked and top-seeded Hornets. Grayson Thurman tallied his 13th save, and Avery Neaves led the way offensively with two hits and a run scored. Thurman took over with a 4-1 lead in the eighth for Potts who went on to earn his eighth win of the year. Thurman fanned three batters in two innings of work for his 11th multi-inning save of the season and sealed the 4-1 victory.

Senior Noah Herdman came up with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning in the Mariners' second game of the Skyline double-elimination tournament on Saturday against Farmingdale State and he roped the first pitch into left-center to plate classmate Brayden O'Connell with the winning run in the USMMA baseball team's 4-3 win over the Rams out at St. Joseph's-L.I.'s Alfano Field. The win propels the Mariners (26-17) on to Skyline Championship Sunday for the second-straight season, while FSC (22-14) is playing the host and top-seed St. Joe's in an elimination game on Saturday evening. Sophomore starter Tyler Reistetter pitched all 10 innings for Merchant Marine and earned the victory on the mound. He allowed just two earned runs on eight hits and struck out 11 batters.

Alexander Rivas had his longest outing of the year, tossing 7.0 innings of five-hit ball, and California Lutheran University baseball defeated La Verne 7-5 to advance to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Kingsmen defeated Chapman on Friday, and now La Verne, to advance to Sunday, undefeated in the tournament. Cal Lutheran can win the SCIAC Postseason Tournament Championship with one win on Sunday. The game will start at 11 a.m. Cal Lutheran will play Pomona Pitzer, a 6-4 winner over La Verne late last night.

Penn State Behrend punched their ticket to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship on Saturday with a 5-4 win over No. 2 Mount Aloysius. Jake Deitz helped send the Lions to the conference title game with a two-run single to walk off the Mounties in the bottom of the ninth, plating the tying and winning run. Behrend will take on Mount Aloysius in the AMCC Championship beginning at 11 a.m. Due to the double-elimination format, the Lions can clinch the conference title with a win with the Mounties needing to win two to be crowned champions. Mount Aloysius earned their spot in the title game with a 16-10 win over Alfred State.

Ninth-ranked and top-seeded Salisbury University moved within one win of another Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference crown, outlasting the second-seeded Christopher Newport Captains, 5-4, in the opener of the best-of-three championship series on Saturday afternoon at Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. The Sea Gulls have a chance to wrap up their second straight C2C title against the Captains at home on Sunday at 12 p.m. A CNU win would force a winner-take-all final game at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Jackson Balzan (8-1) earned the win in his first start in two weeks. Balzan allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings, walking two and striking out four on 88 pitches. Benji Thalheimer nailed down his first career save with three strong innings in relief of Balzan, giving up one run on three hits with one walk and three punchouts.
