HIRAM, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Hiram on Monday. The Lions won 10-1 in the opener and dropped a 9-8 decision in the nightcap.

* Head coach Paul Benim registered his 700th career win in game one

Final Score: Penn State Behrend 10, Hiram 1

* The Lions registered all 10 runs in the final four innings
* Behrend tallied 13 hits and drew nine walks
* Evan Bromley (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) threw a complete game for his second win on the bump
* Bromley allowed just six hits with one run and four strikeouts
* Ryan Meneskie (Moon Township, PA/Moon) went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI
* After the first out in the top of the fourth, the Lions had three straight hits to load the bases
* Daniel Boehme (Peters Township, PA/Seton LaSalle) and Shaun Mikulan (Allison Park, PA/Hampton) scored the first two runs on an error
* John Berger (Wexford, PA/Pine Richland) got the final run of the inning on a wild pitch for a 3-0 lead
* Behrend tallied another run in the fifth, four in the sixth and two in the seventh before the Terriers scored in the bottom of the seventh
* Silvio Ionadi (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) and Isaac Stouffer (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) each tallied a pair of hits

* Hiram erased a three-run deficit with four runs in the final two innings
* M. Trimble hit a two-run walk-off homer to help the Terriers get the split
* The Lions scored five runs in the first thanks to a pair of doubles and a single
* Hiram responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame
* Ionadi started the three-run fifth inning with a solo home run, before Colin Harger (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) drove in a pair of runs for an 8-5 lead
* Sawyer Prince (Shinglehouse, PA/Port Allegany) got the start on the hill, before giving way to Jack Baumgartel (Sewickley, PA/North Allegheny)
* Juston Jones (Moon Township, PA/Moon) pitched the final 1.1 innings for the loss
* Boehme registered two doubles and one RBI
