Basilis gets promotion at ENC

QUINCY, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene College Vice President for Athletics Dr. Brad Zarges has announced the hiring of Josue Basilis as head baseball coach. Basilis becomes the 15th head coach in program history.

A 2019 graduate of Eastern Nazarene College, Basilis takes the reins of the program after serving as an assistant coach with the Lions since 2020 where he was the recruiting coordinator while working primarily with the infielders and outfielder.

"I would like to thank my family and friends for the support throughout this process. A special thanks to Dr. Brad Zarges for the understanding and opportunity to serve as the new head baseball coach. My wife and I are blessed to be back at our alma mater and we are looking forward to investing into the ENC community," stated Basilis. "Our coaching staff will work as a unit to create a special experience for our student-athletes on and off the field while helping them grow in their faith. I'm very excited to see what the future holds for the ENC baseball program!"

In January 2023, Basilis joined Major League Baseball as an Automated Balls and Strikes (ABS) Technician. As an ABS Technician, Basilis works Worcester Red Sox (MILB AAA) home games at Polar Park.

He has spent time as head baseball coach at South Shore Christian Academy and also coached with Antonelli Baseball based out of Middleton, Massachusetts.

Outside of baseball, Basilis has been employed with Infosys Limited as a Quality Assurance Test Engineer.

Basilis graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in 2019 with a degree in Mathematics following a four-year playing career. A native of the Bronx, New York, he appeared in 102 games for the Lions on the diamond and garnered All-New England Collegiate Conference third team honors as a senior. Basilis also earned his Master's degree from Eastern Nazarene in Secondary Education in 2021.
