Six Anchormen knocked in two or more runs as Rhode Island College ended its trip to Florida with a 17-3 win over Skidmore to complete a doubleheader sweep at Terry Park Stadium in Gene Cusic Classic action on Wednesday afternoon.

George Fox picked up their fifth straight win of the season on Wednesday, powering past the UMass Boston Beacons in an impressive team performance, 13-6. Noah Meffert had a monster performance, going 3-5 in a performance which included two triples and six RBIs. Mason Eastman was also impressive, hitting 3-4 on the day, while Jonathan Stone was 3-5. Eight different batters recorded a hit in one of the Bruins' best team performances of their early 2024 campaign. On the mound, the Bruins utilized nine different pitchers — a record for the most pitchers used in a game — who each pitched a single inning on their way to a dominant team win. Michael Singleton led the way with two strikeouts, while Spencer Johnson was given the win. Both the Bruins and Beacons made history in their Wednesday game, as Bruin assistant Carol Laube and Jacqui Reynolds became what is believed to be the first women's coaches to compete against each other in an NCAA baseball game.

After allowing four runs in the top of the eighth inning to give up a lead they had held since the second inning, Catholic's Joe Marini saved the day, crushing a three-run shot to right to push Catholic to an 8-7 victory over Coast Guard on its final day at the Ripken Experience. Down to its final out against Aidan Andersen, freshman Matt Perlin drew a walk to give Catholic a base runner. Zach Burton followed with a single to left, bringing Marini into the box. Marini drilled his second home run of the week, putting Catholic back ahead 8-6. Brendan Martin came on to close things out for Catholic, allowing a run on a Caron Cho two-out single, but Martin struck out Nathan Stafford to strand the tying run at third and finish off the 8-7 win.

Freshman Joey Bogart drove in three runs and Jason Morgan and Dylan Maria had two RBI apiece as #10 Rowan won its seventh in a row, defeating Ohio Northern, 7-3, at the RussM Invitational this morning. The Profs are now 7-1 on the year. Bogart was 1-for-3 and Maria was 1-for-2 as he hit his eighth home run of the season. Jason Morgan had a double and Karson Harcourt had two hits for the Profs. Mike Shannon picked up his second win of the year going 5.0 innings with three strikeouts. The Profs' relievers shut down the Polar Bears the rest of the way as Charlie Russell tossed one scoreless inning and Sean Colbert closed out the final 2.2 as he struck out two.

Tim Petrucelli hit a walk-off two-run double with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th inning to lift fourth-ranked Salisbury past the Messiah Falcons, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. The Falcons pulled even in the fourth and the game devolved into a battle of the bullpens with neither side able to break through. SU had chances to win it after loading the bases in the ninth and 11th, but Messiah held serve each time to push the game further into extras. The Falcons finally broke the stalemate in the top of the 12th. Joshua Ammons led off with a double, then two batters later Drew Hurst pounded his own ground-rule double to center, scoring Ammons to give Messiah its first lead at 3-2. In the bottom of the 12th, Dom Frigiola was hit by a pitch and pinch-run for by Kevin Dall. Pinch-hitter Roman March was also plunked, and the runners moved into scoring position on an errant pickoff move. After a walk to Brex loaded the bases, Petrucelli served one into the gap in left center, scoring Dall and March with the tying and winning runs and setting off a wild celebration out behind second base.

No. 15 Lynchburg defeated Pfeiffer 23-1 in seven innings on Wednesday evening. The Hornets scored their most runs in a game since downing Greensboro 29-7 in 2022. The Hornets scored 15 of their runs in the second inning when they sent 20 batters to the plate. The first 17 Hornets reached base safely in the inning beginning with a solo homer from Quinn Madden. Bryce Demory and Gavin Collins also homered in the inning, and Collins would later hit his second home run of the game in the fifth inning. Lynchburg faced four pitchers in that 15-run inning and three of them didn't record an out. Lynchburg slashed 10 hits, were walked three times, and were hit by four pitchers all in the second inning. Madden has homered in three straight games and has raised his batting average 67 points in those three contests. He went 3-3 against the Falcons. 11 Hornets recorded hits as the Hornets collected 17 base knocks. The Hornets surpassed that total twice in 2022. Lynchburg only used two pitchers in the game compared to Pfeiffer's nine arms. Josh Gjormand earned the win pitching five scoreless innings, and Austin Riney finished out the final six outs.

Seniors Nick Reposa and John Zarnowski both tied single-game program records as Scranton (6-2) topped Babson (3-6) in a wild 20-17 back-and-forth affair on Wednesday at Terry Park in Fort Myers. Reposa matched the single-game program record with five runs scored, while Zarnowski matched the RBI record with seven on the day. Babson held a 9-8 lead in the sixth before Scranton quickly responded with six in the top of the seventh to take a 14-9 lead. The Beavers then drew within a run at 14-13, but the Royals plated five in the eighth and were able to hold on for the victory.

Utica picked up its first win in Florida on Wednesday afternoon with a 19-4 win in seven innings over the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays. A plethora of Pioneers had multi-hit games including Josh Duval going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Jack Scanlon, Antonio Martinez and Jacob Scalise all had three hits with Scanlon driving in four runs and Scalise three. Andrew Salbinski, Dom Fasolo and newcomer Tanner Warren each had two hits while Warren drove in three runs with Salbinski and Fasolo bringing home a pair. Kody Czternastek made his first start of the year and dazzled over six innings. The sophomore allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and just one walk while striking out five. Kooper Knabe shut the door on the game, giving up just one walk and striking out one in the 7th. The Pioneers clutched up when needed at the plate, going 7-for-10 as a team with two outs and 14-for-24 with runners on base (12-for-19 with runners in scoring position).

Wilkes stayed unbeaten at home this season after defeating Elmira 13-9 in a non-conference game Wednesday at Bruggeworth Field. Both offenses started hot with Wilkes leading 6-3 after the first inning. Wilkes proceeded to answer each time Elmira scored and cruised to the win. Braydon Wuestner started on the mound for the Colonels but lasted just 0.1 innings as he allowed three runs on one hit with three walks and a hit batter with one strikeout. Ryan Sanderson (2-0) came in to settle things down on the Wilkes defensive side as he pitched 2.2 innings without allowing a run credited to him and earned the win. Nathan Loch was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Chase Vrabel was 3-for-6 with one RBI and two runs. The Colonels aggressive baserunning landing them 10 total stolen bases.

William Paterson (3-6) picked up its first road win of the season after edging out Manhattanville (3-2), 11-10, in a game that was called after eight innings due to darkness. With two outs in the sixth, back-to-back doubles from juniors Austin Jack and Connor Luckie put the Pioneers on top by one (9-8) before a costly fielding error by Manhattanville later permitted another run to come in and push the lead to two and added a third in the the seventh. Manhattanville pushed two runs across in the bottom of the seventh to make it a one-run game (11-10). That would be as close as the Valiants would get as the Pioneers posted two scoreless frames to close out the game and earn the road win. Senior Ian Metzger earned his first save of the season after pitching a flawless eighth inning.

Bowdoin improved to 4-3 on the season after a doubleheader sweep of Fitchburg State on Wednesday afternoon. The Polar Bears won a tight 6-5 decision in game one and unleashed the bats in game two for a 15-4 victory over the Falcons (4-6). The Polar Bears extended their lead in game one to 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth to see the Falcons draw close with a Matt Kelly three-run homer to right in the seventh inning. That was all the scoring as Bowdoin added to their win totals. In game two a five run fith propelled the Polar Bears to a sweep on the day. Franco Ruocco earned the win with six innings of work and five hits allowed. The first-year struck out seven batters. Baker Olin pitched the final inning.

Mount Union won, 5-1, over Hiram in its home opener on Wednesday. Mount Union (10-4) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and pulled away in the third with four runs, highlighted by a two-run home run by graduate Zack Mazza. Mazza extended his school record for career home runs to 32. Hiram (5-4) spoiled the shut out with a run in the seventh. Senior Jaired Lehman and freshman Luke Ickes (Green, Ohio / Green) each added a double. Junior Brady Hansen, the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Pitcher of the Week, improved to 4-0 on the season, throwing 6.0 scoreless innings and striking out eight.

UW-La Crosse defeated Wheaton College (Mass.) 14-4 in eight innings on Wednesday afternoon at North East Regional Park. Offensively, UWL finished with 13 hits, six walks and three stolen bases. Mac Born continued his hot start to the 2024 season going 2-for-4 with four RBIs and his second home run in three games. Nate Witte finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, three runs scored and a walk while Moran was 2-for-3 with three runs score, two stolen bases, a walk and an RBI. Mitchel Fassbender (1-0) earned the win on the mound for the Eagles as he came on in relief to pitch 3.1 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five. Tyler Schmitt got the start for the Eagles as he went 3.2 innings and gave up two runs on four hits and five walks while striking out six.

In their first game of the season, Williams secured a commanding 22-1 victory over RPI. This triumph not only showcased the Ephs prowess on the field but also set a tone of dominance early in the season. Leading the charge for Williams was Henry Juan, who doubled to right field in the early stages, setting the tone for what was to become a historic offensive display. Juan's performance, alongside key hits from Will Scott and Ryan Nakajima, ignited a scoring spree that saw the Ephs rack up an astonishing 17 runs in the third inning alone. This offensive onslaught was highlighted by strategic hits, disciplined walks, and capitalizing on RPI's errors. Williams head coach Bill Barrale when talking about the third inning said, "I've never seen anything like that really. We put together some great at bats, hit the ball hard and swung at strikes which resulted in a big inning."

Minnesota Morris returned to action on Wednesday in
Florida following the team's lone day off of the trip. The
Cougars faced off with SUNY Oneonta in a pair of seven
inning contests and came away with the win in the opener,
11-3, before the Red Dragons returned the favor in game
two, winning, 13-7. The split of the two games puts
UMN Morris at 4-6 overall on the year.

Junior Scooter Summa pounded out three hits and drove in five runs as Plymouth State toppled Hartford, 11-2, in the first of two games at the Myrtle Beach College Baseball Spring Training at Polo Grounds on Wednesday. The Panthers fell to Wells College, 10-3, in the second game of the afternoon. Plymouth State took a 1-0 lead in the second before erupting during a five-run third to take control against Hartford. Summa drove in a pair of runs with a single up the middle in the third, before his bases-loaded triple in the seventh put the game out of reach. It was Wells that scored early in the second game of the day as the Express pushed two across in the first before scoring five times in the second. PSU plated single runs in the third and fifth to creep back into the game but Wells added a three-spot in the seventh to secure the win.

Cornell leaned on its pitching staff Wednesday in a 5-2 victory over UW-Stout at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. The Rams (7-3) limited UW-Stout (3-2) to five total hits and didn't allow a run over the final eight innings. Cornell improved to 4-1 on its Florida trip. Junior right-hander Kaleb Whaley (2-1) notched his second pitching win in seven days, firing five near-flawless innings in relief. Whaley yielded just one single and struck out five while walking one. Aiden Monce worked the final two innings to earn his first save of the season. He gave up one hit as the Rams lowered their team earned run average to 3.10 through 10 games. The Rams delivered all the offense they needed during a three-run first frame. Hot-hitting Kale Rose singled home Seth Beals for the first run, Esteban Perez recorded a sacrifice fly and Rose scored on a wild pitch to put Cornell ahead 3-0. Cornell added two insurance runs in the eighth. Rose crossed on a UW-Stout error and Alec Boldt had an RBI single. The Rams were held to four hits – singles by Rose, Boldt, Darren Mancke and Cade Parks.

Heidelberg traveled to Westminster (Pa.) on Wednesday for a midweek single game against the Titans. A five-run fifth inning for the Student Princes helped vault them to an 8-1 victory. Dylan Matusak got the nod for Heidelberg on the mound, going five innings, giving up one run on four hits while striking out five. Vincent Marimpietri got three innings of work giving up just one hit and struck out two. Nicolas Lavelle came in and only needed eight pitches to close out the game with a scoreless ninth. Braedy Limke and Reece McNeely both tallied two hits while Andrew Cook notched three while also adding three RBI. Camden Farley had three RBIs of his own while Kyle Mottice added two.

Earlham continued play during spring break with a 6-5 loss to Lasell University, and a 13-11 win over Gettysburg. Lasell scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning and added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning. The Quakers scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh before loading the bases. The Quakers then added their final run before stranding three runners. Dillon Bandi earned the win on Wednesday with 2.1 innings pitched. Guzzi then came in for a three-inning save with one hit and one strikeout. On offense, Quin Adelson went 2-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI. Sean Jeffries brought home two RBI on a double, and scored three runs. During the game, both teams traded crooked innings with the Bullets getting one and the Quakers getting two and the win.

Oswego State took on the No. 23 Arcadia University Knights in Lexington South Carolina Wednesday afternoon and won 9-8. After grabbing a 3-0 lead over the Knights in the second, both teams would take turns pushing runs across. Oswego excitingly walked it off in the bottom of the nineth to grab a 9-8 victory over the Knights. Arcadia tied the game up at 7 in the top of the seventh, but Oswego came right back in the bottom of the inning when CJ McCarthy walked and ended up scoring on an error by the Knights. Matthew Drillings came in to pitch the 8th inning for the Lakers working a scoreless and hit-less inning. The Knights squeezed in a run to tie the game at 8 in the ninth with the Lakers having one last chance in bottom of the frame to break the tie. Owen Parliament got things started with a two out walk. Jelani Hamer was up next and once again was hit by a pitch, putting runners on first and second. The hero of the day was Jacob Levine who singled through the right side and scored Parliament for the walk off victory.

Junior Clark Churchill earned his first win of the season behind 7.0 innings of work, allowing one run and fanning five batters as Nichols cruised past Southwestern University, 12-4 on Rockwell Family Baseball Field. Senior Brennan Hyde and junior Taj Vera Cruz both homered in the win for the Bison. Hyde led the offense with three hits including a solo shot in the top of the first inning to open the scoring for the Bison. In the second inning the Pirates answered back with a sacrifice bunt leading to an error that saw the runner from third score, tying the game. The Bison offenses found life in the third inning, plating six runs on two hits, highlighted by a two RBI double from sophomore Dylan Moran. Nichols tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning, to extend the lead to 9-1. Churchill continued his dominance on the mound for the remainder of the outing, finishing with 7.0 innings, five strikeouts, and allowed one run. Insurance came for the Bison in the seventh inning, as Vera Cruz launched a towering three run home run over the left field scoreboard. This was Vera Cruz's first collegiate home run and extended the Nichols lead to 12-1. The Pirates added three runs in the final two innings, but the Bison hung on to top the Pirates 12-4.

UW-Platteville (2-5) got a strong offensive showing in an 11-1 win over Carroll (4-7) on Wednesday afternoon in Pensacola, Florida. The first six UW-Platteville batters reached base in the top of the first, resulting in three runs. That was all Brandon Molldrem needed as he got the start on the mound for UW-Platteville. Molldrem earned the win after allowing just one hit and one unearned run across five innings of work. He struck out three and walked four. Sophomore William Hough tossed the final two innings, giving up two hits while striking out two. UW-Platteville put runners on base in multiple ways throughout the day with 11 hits and 10 walks drawn. Wegner finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, while Fago and Wyatt Molitor each had two hits. Mason Molitor paced the team with three walks.

Rochester closed out its spring break schedule in North Carolina with its second straight split doubleheader against William Peace on Wednesday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Rochester (4-6) was able to win game one by a 5-3 score before the Pacers (4-9) responded with an 8-7 walk-off win to close out the series. Alec Ellison and Nathan Carpenter-Holmes led UR in game one with two hits each in the win. Eight of the nine starters in the game for Rochester finished with a base knock, while Jackson Reed, Quincy Jaksch and Ellison provided the RBI's. UR's momentum after tying game two in the seventh unfortunately didn't last, as Andy Duran led off the bottom half of the inning with a triple to right center. Afterwards, UR pitcher Justin Grossman got a strikeout and a hard line out to left field to have a chance at sending the game to extras, but Adam Joseph stepped up with two outs, ripping a base it to right center to end the game.

Reese Hackett hits the walk-off winner to boost Delaware Valley 10-9 past the undefeated Wilson College Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon. The Pheonix tied the game at nine a side in the top of the ninth. In the bottom of the inning, Hank Bielen singled through the left side before Rouke Watson came in to pinch run. Gavin Migliori reached on an error and Evan Scally was hit by a pitch to load the bases. With a new Wilson pitcher on the mound, Reese Hackett sent a single out to the left-field fence driving home the winning run.

St. Scholastica completed a two-game sweep over Curry this afternoon to advance to 8-1 on the young season. The Saints rode a strong pitching staff across both games, holding the Colonels to just three runs across both games, winning game one by a score of 10-1, and game two 7-2. St. Scholastica got a big lead in game one, scoring eight runs before Curry put their one run on the board. Payton Jeffries pitched a conmplete game allowing the one run in 7.0 innings. He allowed six hits, walked no one and struckout six. It was another well pitched game in game two for the Saints. After Grant Taival pitched five strong innings for the Saints, Ethan Zimmerman and Wes Kemming came up big down the stretch, as CSS was able to hold on and come away with a two-game sweep over Curry College, winning game two by a score of 7-2.

Salve Regina sophomore catcher Shea Donovan sent an 0-1 pitch into left field for a game-winning single as the Seahawks overcame a 5-0 deficit and defeated the Tigers of the Rochester Institute of Technology at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida. Reliever Jason Arrigo earned his second victory of the season after hurling four scoreless and hitless innings and striking out three Tigers. The Seahawks improve to 4-0 all-time against the Tigers with all meetings in RussMatt Invitational. In the first-ever meeting, then freshman Patrick Maybach blanked RIT, 3-0, in his first collegiate start in 2017 and took a no-hitter into the ninth inning. Christian Homa and Hunter Yaworski both collected a pair of hits, accounting for half of the Seahawk total in the game (4 of 8). Brandon Grover struck a game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning. Tommy DelVecchio and Jason Arrigo held the Tigers to one hit in their last 25 plate appearances.

Stevenson (5-6) added another win on their road trip against the Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen (7-4) in a four-hour affair. The 18-16 game was called at eight innings completed due to darkness. The final tie occurred near the end of the bottom of the sixth, when the Flying Dutchmen advanced on a single and three walks, one intentional. In the top of the seventh, Kaige Garrity reached on a fielder's choice and stole second. A double from junior catcher Matt Perri allowed him to return home. Another single from Christopher Manco allowed Matt Perri to add the 17th run for the Mustangs. The final run arrived in the top of the eighth when Sears singled, reached second on an error, then scored on a wild pitch. In total, the Mustangs earned 15 hits on eight walks and six strikeouts with eight total left on base. Perri and Reinhart ended the evening with three RBI each, while Manco, junior infield Brady Bedway, and sophomore infield Noah Joly each achieved two. On pitching, six Mustangs had time on the mound with sophomore Brendan Phillips getting the win on two hits, one run, one walk and a strikeout. First-year Jake Treasure earned a save in the victory for the Mustangs.
