Brennan Fisher homered three times and drove home 10 runs as the 12th ranked Benedictine moved to 4-0 in the NACC with a sweep of the 10th ranked defending conference champions from No. 10 Aurora on Wednesday. Benedictine recorded a comfortable 9-3 win in the opener but had to sweat out a 12-11 decision in game two. The team came from behind to win both games. Andrew Kurcz tossed a complete game as Benedictine rallied to pull away in the opener. Benedictine needed to rally multiple times and then had to hold off a late charge from Aurora to tally the sweep.

Edgewood opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play in a big way Wednesday. They hit the road to face the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors in a doubleheader. The Eagles (8-6, 2-0 NACC) soared above the Warriors (4-13, 0-4 NACC), winning game one 19-9 and game two 18-8. The Eagles set the tone for the day with eight runs in the first inning of the opener. in the nightcap, a nine-run third broke the game wide open for Edgewood College. The 10 doubles in game one were the most by Edgewood College in any game in nearly 20 years. The total matched the program record, set against Marnatha Baptist on April 2, 2004. As a team, Edgewood College leads the NACC with 39 stolen bases.

Wilkes bested Lycoming College 2-0 in their Landmark Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Bruggeworth Field behind six shutout innings from starting pitcher Zachary Lloyd. Lloyd took the mound in his seventh appearance of the season and retired the side in the first with a swinging strikeout and two fly-outs to Jimmy Brazofsky in right field and Mike Show in center. He pitched another 1-2-3 inning in the second with two fly-outs and a ground-out to third baseman Luke Spencer. Lloyd picked up his fourth win of the season, improving his record to 4-1. He punched out five batters while only allowing one hit through 6.0. Mi. Show and Vrabel both tallied an RBI while Brazofsky led the team with two hits.

Middlebury scored nine unanswered runs over the first five innings of Wednesday's contest to propel it past RPI 14-7 in midweek action. The Panthers built a 9-0 advantage before RPI got on the board. The Engineers cut the deficit to seven in the fifth and in the sixth pulled to within two (9-7). That was as close as RPI would get. The Panthers increased their edge to three (10-7) in the eighth as Lucas Cai was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to drive in a run. Beau Root sealed the victory in the ninth, blasting a grand slam over the right-center field fence to give Middlebury the 14-7 triumph. The program's met for the 60th time with Middlebury holding a 33-27 edge in a series that began in 1907. The Panthers have won the last eight contests.

Ayden Heitmann threw nine full innings, scattered four hits and allowed zero runs in a 4-0 Lyon College shutout win in the first game of a doubleheader against the Greenville Panthers at Robert E. Smith Field on a 47-degree day in Greenville. The Scots (7-13, 3-1) beat the Panthers 19-4 in a seven-inning second game with Blair Francis picking up the win by also going the entire nine innings. In the second game, the Scots broke the game open with an eight-run third inning.

A return to the friendly confines of Art Murray Field offered a reset Wooster, which exploded for a nine-run sixth inning in Wednesday's 12-6 win over future North Coast Athletic Conference rival John Carroll University. Sophomore catcher Nathaniel Huxtable ended John Carroll's (5-12) no-hit bid in the bottom of the fifth inning with a leadoff homer to left field that tied the non-conference clash at two. Huxtable's first collegiate homer woke up Wooster's (10-8) offense. The flood gate opened come the bottom of the sixth inning with Wooster sending 14 Scots to the plate and eight different players scored a run in the frame to put the game out of reach to the Blue Streaks.

Junior Luke McClintock and three relievers combined on a one-hit shutout to lift Babson College to a 2-0 win over visiting Suffolk University in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Govoni Field. Sophomore Ryan Hvozdovic contributed an RBI single in support of McClintock, who struck out four and allowed just one hit over 6.0 innings to improve to 1-1 on the season with the win for the Beavers. Graduate student John Nowak singled and scored and sophomore Zander Teator picked up his first career save with a perfect ninth inning. Graduate student Brent Bucklin was terrific in defeat for the Rams striking out five and allowing just one earned run on five hits over 7.0 innings.

Coe College improved to 4-0 in American Rivers Conference action on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping a pair of road games at the University of Dubuque 14-2 and 3-0. The Kohawks churned out 14 hits in the first game of the day, getting RBI from six players. Coe's pitching staff turned in an impressive effort to complement the offensive output, as four Kohawks combined to allow just six hits for the Spartans. Jack Walsh earned his third win of the season as he got the start and struck out seven batters, allowing just two hits in four innings of work. Caden Richards spearheaded another dominant pitching effort from the Kohawks in game two, working four scoreless frames with six strikeouts and just two hits allowed. Landon Moore, Caden Evans and CJ Johnson combined in the backend of the game to secure the shutout, with Johnson earning his second save of the campaign. Offensively, Coe had just five hits, but three players picked up RBI including Jake Brosius and Reid Rausch who drove home runs in the top of the first inning.

Gordon took to the diamond this afternoon for a doubleheader against the Colby-Sawyer Chargers. The Fighting Scots defeated the Chargers in game one by a score of 5-0 and dropped the second game, 11-6. Tyler Sprince continued to be stellar from the mound, keeping the Chargers off balance through 5.2 innings of work, striking out four while allowing zero hits for his second win of the season. Mike Williams took care of the final one and a third innings, surrendering just one hit, while also striking out four to secure the 5-0 shutout of the visitors. In game two the Scots exploded for five runs in the fifth thanks to five hits to take their first lead of the game, 6-1. Colby-Sawyer came right back in their next offensive chance as the Chargers crossed the plate nine times in the sixth before adding one more in the seventh to take game two, 11-6.

Bridgewater (Va.) took down Mary Washington 5-4 in a thrilling game Wednesday evening. BC mounted a monumental comeback in the bottom of the ninth inning with Tristan Gordon driving a ball to center field to pick up a two bagger. Jeffery Snider clutched up dropping in a single to knot the score up at 4-4 and force extra innings. Both teams were rushed for time as the sun was setting fast. Bridgewater, in the bottom of the 11th inning, started another two-out rally. Nick Stavros began the rally with a single to left field and then advanced third on a Brandan Hartman single to the opposite side. Luke Tomajczyk substituted in for Hartman adding a speed threat to the base path. Spencer Sigmon, who took over in the in the designated hitter spot, drew a walk to load the bases for the Eagles. Lucas Bauer strapped in and poked a single to right field to give BC the walk-off win 5-4.

Eastern Connecticut State scored the final five runs of the game in their last three at-bats to erase a two-run deficit and extend its winning streak to ten with a 6-3 victory over Salve Regina Wednesday afternoon at the Eastern Baseball Stadium. Ranked fourth in New England, Eastern (11-5) tied the game, 3-3, with two runs in the bottom of the sixth on junior catcher Hank Penders' two-out, two-run home run off relief pitcher Sean Woodruff, went ahead with a run in the seventh on junior centerfielder Ray Leonzi's sacrifice fly, and added two unearned cushion runs in the eighth on senior shortstop Zach Donahue's RBI single and a sacrifice fly by senior leftfielder Josh Cofrancesco. Junior righty Matthew Wootton retired six straight batters on 13 pitches over the final two innings – fanning two and allowing only one ball out of the field – to save junior righty Mike Furgalack's first career victory. The third of four Eastern pitchers, Furgalack struck out two and walked two in the seventh inning after Eastern had tied the game on Penders' first home run of the season in the sixth.

Keystone faced off against Clarks Summit University at home on Wednesday afternoon for their fourth conference game of the week. After a slow start, the Giants put the game away in the seventh inning after scoring seven runs with two outs and defeating the Defenders 16-5. Nate Ewing posted four RBI after getting two hits in three at bats. David Curreri brough across two RBI after a perfect four hits in four at bats, and Bobby Pokorney brought home two with one hit in two at bats. On the mound, Slothing Che picked up seven strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Jacob Yager made an appearance on the mound and recorded one strikeout in 0.2 innings. Drew Sorrentino then took over and was credited with the win after four strikeouts and zero earned run in three innings.

Drew took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth and broke the game open in the late innings as Scranton (12-4, 6-2 Landmark) dropped a 9-2 decision to the Rangers (9-7, 2-3 Landmark) on Wednesday afternoon at Doc Young Field in Madison. The game was tied at two apiece in the bottom of the fifth when Raiden Yost gave Drew the lead for good with an RBI single and Aiden Mitchell followed with a sac fly to make it a 4-2 game for the time being. Trailing 4-2, Scranton loaded the bases with two away in the seventh following consecutive singles and an error, but a popout to shortstop ended the threat. Yost got the win for the Rangers after giving up two runs on three hits while walking two and fanning in 5.0 IP.

No. 2 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace defeated Bluffton by a score of 15-7 in a non-conference game at Memorial Field. After meeting in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic earlier this season, BW (16-3, 2-0 OAC) wasted no time getting on the board in the second game of their season series with Bluffton (6-12) thanks to an early run in the first inning and a six-run second. The Brown and Gold grew their lead with a two-run fifth and their second six-run inning of the day in the sixth. Freshman right-hander Matt Moscarino (Strongsville/Padua Franciscan) got the starting nod and notched a career-high six strikeouts through four innings allowing only two runs on four hits.

St. Joseph's (L.I.) picked up a non-conference win, 15-1, at John Jay College on Wednesday evening. Senior John Lynch was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Junior Anselmo Joya went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Freshmen Scott Northrop and Joe Thatcher finished with two hits apiece and combined for four runs and three RBIs. SJLI starter freshman Riley Morris earned his second win of the season allowing just one run on three hits with five strikes in six innings,.CJ Rivera, Ryan Barlow, and Luke Gacovino all provided an inning of scoreless relief.

Fifth-ranked Salisbury earned a season sweep of its Delmarva Peninsula rival, overwhelming the Washington College Shoremen, 17-6, on Wednesday afternoon at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. The Sea Gulls pounced on Washington early with a five-run first inning. and resp[onded to a three run third by Washington College with another five-spot in the bottom of the third. Washington put up three more runs in the top of the seventh to see the Sea Gulls getting all three back in the home seventh. Andrew Kell brought home SU's final runs with a two-run single in the eighth, giving the game its final 17-6 margin.

Geneva achieved its first two Presidents' Athletic Conference victories in its doubleheader sweep of the Franciscan Barons. A ninth-inning rally in game one gave the men an exciting 6-5 win early in the afternoon, and an impressive performance at the plate led to a big 12-6 win in game two. The GT's record improves to 10-6 overall, 2-2 in the PAC, while Franciscan remains at the bottom of the conference with a 2-11 overall record, 0-4 in PAC play. Things looked bleak for Geneva down two runs in the ninth, but the GTs responded well. Sophomore Kirk Bearjar opened the top half of the ninth inning with a home run to left field, pulling the men within one run. After senior David Toruno doubled a couple of batters later, Babu singled him home, evening the score. Finally, a double from freshman Josh Hull proved to be the icing on the cake for the Golden Tornadoes as Babu scored from first to take the lead. Franciscan only put one man on base in the bottom of the ninth, and Geneva left the field with a 6-5 win in game one. The GTs came out hot again to start game two. The sixth inning proved to be a big one, with Geneva scoring 5ive runs to take a 10-3 lead. The Barons did their best to stay in the game, plating three runs in the bottom half of the inning, but Geneva punched right back in the top of the seventh with a two-RBI single off senior Tim Hermansen's bat. That put the score at 12-6 in favor of the Golden Tornadoes, and that was where it would remain for the rest of the ballgame.

Playing in its final game before the start of North Coast Athletic Conference action this weekend, No. 4 nationally-ranked Denison scored a combined 10 runs in its final three innings offensively and defeated Muskingum by a final score of 12-2 at the Big Red Baseball Field on Wednesday evening. It was the first meeting between Denison (17-2 overall) and Muskingum (11-8) since 2020 and was the eighth-straight win in the series for the Big Red. Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Denison took control of the game with two runs and four more in the subsequent inning.

Wesleyan (Conn) plated runs in every inning while Lucca Frattone threw 5+ shutout innings in relief, highlighting a 21-4 home-opening win for the Cardinals over Saint Joseph on Wednesday night. The Cardinals (11-2) have won four of their past five games and defeat the Blue Jays (7-8-1) in what was the first all-time meeting between Wesleyan and USJ, who is in its first varsity season in 2024. A big five-run bottom of the 3rd inning saw the Cardinals bat around the lineup and seize control of the game. Jack Carpenter and Evan Diaz led the Cardinal offense as each went 3-for-4 with one walk, reaching base safely in four of their five plate appearances. Diaz scored three runs while Carpenter had 2 RBI. Frattone was brilliant in relief, going 5.1 scoreless innings in his first career outing. He finished with five hits and just one walk with six strikeouts to pick up the win.

Washington & Jefferson College battled its way to pick up a pair of wins Wednesday afternoon in a doubleheader sweep of visiting Saint Vincent College at Ross Memorial Park. The Presidents scored the final seven runs to rally for a 10-9 win in game one. W&J took game two by an 8-5 score to secure the conference sweep. The Presidents had to play from behind from the get go in game one. W&J completed the comeback with four runs on five hits in their final at bat. After a failed sac bunt attempt, Sam Schuster came through with a two-strike RBI double down the left field line to plate Dezenzo to even the score at 9-9. Two batters later, Jacob LaDuca walked things off for a second time this season. The junior shortstop send a ball back up the middle that was deflected by the SVC pitcher. Nobody for the Bearcats could reach the ball in time to make a play for the third out before the winning run scored. Just as they did in game one, the visiting Bearcats pushed out to an early lead. The Presidents took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning as W&J batted around and scored five times in the sixth.

Manchester defeated visiting Hope in a non-conference game on Wednesday. The Black & Gold earned a 10-8 win against the Flying Dutchmen. After Hope took an early 4-0 lead in the 1st inning of Wednesday's contest, junior Rocco Hanes hit a three-run homerun to left field to bring the Spartans within one run in the bottom of the 1st inning. Joel Kennedy followed with another three-run homerun in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take a 6-4 lead. Griffin Garwood hit the Spartan's third homerun of the day in the 8th inning to extend Manchester's lead to 10-7. Garwood led the Black and Gold offensively, going 3-4 from the plate. Manchester would hold Hope to one run in the top of the 9th inning to secure the 10-8 victory. Jared Holley, Hunter Aker, Arturo Casas, and Max Herring all combined for seven strikeouts on the mound for the Spartans on Wednesday night. Herring came in for relief, holding Hope to no hits and no runs in 2.0 innings.

Gabe Bunn's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth lifted Misericordia to an 11-10 walk-off win over King's in their series opener, Wednesday afternoon at Tambur Field. Bunn had three hits and two RBI and Connor Maryniak had four hits and four RBI as the Cougars rallied from an early 10-3 deficit. Joe Comins scored five runs as the Cougars won their fifth straight. Matt Lanzendorfer struck out two in the top of the ninth to earn the win. Misericordia scored six runs over the final three innings to complete the comeback.

DePauw extended its win streak to four and improved to 9-6 with a 5-2 win over St. Olaf. The Oles dropped to 9-8 with the loss. St. Olaf grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Evan Hammonds led off with a double and scored on Joey Glampe's two-out, two-bagger. DePauw came right back in the bottom of the frame as Grady Johnson singled and moved to third on Danny Glimco's double. Both came home on Cameron Macon's two-out ground-rule double. Max Bond walked in the DePauw second and advanced to second on Ty Sucher's base hit before scoring on Johnson's single to make it 3-1. Louis Florida's solo homer in the sixth boosted the Tigers' lead to 4-1 and St. Olaf countered in the top of the seventh with Brendan Goldman's solo homer. DePauw added an insurance run in the eighth as Drew Straub singled and Bond was hit by a pitch followed by Sucher's RBI double. Sucher and Johnson each had two of DePauw's nine hits, while Glampe had two of the Oles' seven. Nate Tencza improved to 2-2, while Justin Benes collected his first save. Davie Scheil dropped to 0-1.

Number 3 ranked Shenandoah team picked up a gritty, non conference win over Dickinson Wednesday afternoon at Kevin Anderson Field at Bridgeforth Stadium. The Hornets (18-3, 7-2) held off a late Dickinson grand slam to hang on for a 6-5 win for their second straight win in back-to-back days. Michael Meyers got the start for the Hornets trying to get back into form after taking a line drive off of his non-pitching back against Susquehanna earlier this month. Today, Meyers went 4.2 innings giving up three hits and one run while striking out five. Anthony Arrichiello went the next 2.2 innings to secure his second win of the season. Kody Dobyns went .2 of an inning while striking out the final two batters in the eighth to keep the Red Devils behind. Joey Mitchell entered in the ninth and gave up a hit and a walk, but got a double play to end the game for his second straight save.

Mitchell used a four-run fourth inning to push past Clark University by a 5-3 final on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game at Alumni Field. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Mariners, who handed Clark just their third loss in 19 games this spring. Senior Owen Robbins finished the day with a team-high two hits, including a double, while adding a pair of walks and a run scored. Freshman Michael Ficocelli and Chas Terni Jr., along with seniors Cole Lalli, Michael Gajda, and Angel Galindez collected one base hit and one RBI apiece in the win.

Webster was back in action this afternoon when they played host to the Mississippi University for Women Owls for a SLIAC doubleheader. The Gorloks split the doubleheader as they lost the first game by a final score of 10-3 and then bounced back to win the second game by a final score of 25-5 to move to 10-9 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. With the split, the Owls move to 10-7 on the year and 2-2 in the SLIAC. The Gorloks would get off to a slow start in their first game of the day as the Owls scored a run in the top of the second, a run in the top of the third, and five runs in the top of the fourth to take a 7-0 lead. Webster would bring a run across in the bottom of the ninth but the Owls would pick up the final outs of the game to solidify the win. Webster picked it up to start the second game and would score three runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. The Owls would respond with two runs in the top of the second, but a five-run rally from the Gorloks in the bottom half of the inning would give Webster an 8-2 lead early in the game. Every move by the Owls were countered by Webster asa they made the most of a 21 hit game. Nathaniel Martinez led the way for the Gorloks as he went 3-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBI.
