| The 16th-ranked Trinity (Texas) Tigers earned a 3-1 victory over Concordia Texas on Tuesday night. The Tigers improved to 18-7 this season with the win, which also means a season series split with the Tornados. Concordia, which survived with an 8-7 win over Trinity in Austin two weeks ago, falls to 13-14 with the loss. Jonathan Newman improved to 4-0 this season with the win in relief, pitching four shutout innings, allowing just two hits and recording four strikeouts. Wartburg picked up a huge 8-5 home win over Buena Vista University on Tuesday. The Knights move to 12-7 overall and 3-4 in American Rivers Conference play. BVU tied the game up at three in the top of the fourth with a two RBI single and added a run to get the lead. The Knights responded in the bottom half as a RBI groundout by Keaton Gray to put Wartburg ahead 5-4 after four innings. The Knights added to their run total for an 8-4 lead after six innings. The Beavers responded in the top of the seventh with an RBI single to cut the deficit to three but could get no closer. Will Armstrong entered in the ninth and closed out the game as the Knights won 8-5.
Senior shortstop Jonny Wall ripped four hits Tuesday as Roanoke College rolled to a 12-4 victory over Methodist University in non-conference action from WW Naff Field. Wall went 4-5 with two doubles, three runs and two RBI and Dylan Bonzon was 3-5 with two runs. Jon Rossi earned the win on the hill and Trevor Orth notched the save.
Roger Williams efeated the Curry Colonels, 12-2, on Tuesday at Paolino Field, defeating their Commonwealth Coast Conference foe in resounding fashion. The Hawks hit three home runs in the contest, with Jack Morin, Rory Lynch, and Dennis Folan ccomplishing the feat. Lynch went 2-for-4 on the day with five RBIs and a run, with Aidan Hawley and Folan each earning a pair of hits, with a double. Conor Quinlan picked up the win against the Colonels, going 5.0 innings with two earned runs, with eight hits and five strikeouts, with no walks, pushing his record to 3-0 on the season. Nick Gleason (Northboro, Mass.) pitched a scoreless 2.0 innings with a hit and three strikeouts, with the two pitchers combining for no walks in the game. Erik Leonard was responsible for the two runs for the Colonels, with a pair of solo home runs. Dale Beneway earned the loss in the contest for Curry moving to 0-2 on the season.
Oswego State hosted the Pioneers of Alfred State College. The Lakers trailed going into the third inning of the first game, but scored four runs to take the lead. They bested the Pioneers 5-4 on a walk off single. In game two, Oswego held onto an early lead and ran away with the game after scoring six runs in the fourth to take the win 11-1. In the bottom of the seventh of game one, Owen Parliament hit a double to right field and was then brought in by a walk off single from Tishawn Featherstone to end the game with a 5-4 win. In game two, Oswego put the game away in the fourth. Felix De Asa Delacruz bunted to get on first and bases were loaded. Anthony Barone singled to right field to bring in a run. Joe McLaughlin then reached second on an error to bring in two runs. Oswego brought in an additional three runs to make the score 9-1 at the end of the fourth.
Three different Captains connected on two-run home runs to lead 18th-ranked Christopher Newport to a 12-2 win at home on Tuesday afternoon, downing Pfeiffer University (9-13). Josh Reinhold, Lincoln Lubsen, and Gus Croll left the yard in the 5th, 7th, and 8th innings to expand on an early lead for the Captains as they pulled away from the Falcons. In all, the Captains connected on five extra-base hits in the game with the three round-trippers highlighting the action while Cameron Slough added a pair of doubles and Eric Wilson reached on a two-bagger as well. On the mound, fifth-year senior Dylan Weber picked up his fourth win of the season after a five-inning outing against Pfeiffer on Tuesday. He struck out seven while allowing a single run on four hits in the start. In relief, Marcus Dux and Denny Checkosky combined for five strikeouts over the next three innings as the CNU offense built a substantial lead. Then, in the ninth inning, a triumphant return from the bullpen came in the form of both Colby Shriner and Colin D'Arcy, as each pitched for the first time in 2024.
Seniors Tanner Santos went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and classmate Brant Savage was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored to help Babson College defeat visiting MIT, 10-3, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Govoni Field. Santos led all players with three stolen bases, juniors Walter Sadowsky and Justin Guest each singled and drove in a pair of runs, while senior Jack Julian was 1-for-2 with an RBI single, a walk and a run scored for the Beavers. Sophomore James Clark improved to 2-1 on the year with the win after giving up three runs on four hits to go along with four strikeouts over 7.0 innings. Senior Michael Finch homered, classmate Tyler Godfrey was 1-for-3 with two RBI and fellow senior Kennan Gumbs singled twice and added a stolen base for the Engineers. Junior Reed Tubbs was unable to get out of the second inning after giving up four earned runs on six hits and dropped to 0-2 on the year with the loss.
Senior Riley Hasson drove in three runs for Johnson and Wales in a 7-0 win over Albertus Magnus in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex. Junior Trevor Juan added four hits – including an RBI double in the first – and scored three times for the Wildcats (12-5, 3-0 GNAC), who ran their win streak to seven. Sophomore Max Randazzo, meanwhile, fanned 10 over seven innings of two-hit shutout ball to improve to 4-1 on the season. Junior Garrett Fusco worked two hitless innings to close out the contest. Hasson plated one in the third on a single to left and two more in the sixth with a double to left-center which extended the JWU lead to 7-0. Senior Jack Magane also collected an RBI with a bloop single in the fourth and junior Xavier Botelho drove in a run with a double down the left field line in the fifth.
St. Olaf College opened Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play by sweeping Concordia-Moorhead by scores of 4-3 and 4-0 in its home opener on Tuesday at Mark Almli Field. In the opener, St. Olaf (11-8, 2-0 MIAC) recovered from giving up three runs in the bottom of the sixth to win it in the next inning on a walk-off single by junior Evan Hammonds. In game two, sophomore Kevin Steel threw a career-high 8.0 shutout innings to pitch the Oles to the sweep of Concordia-Moorhead (3-13, 0-2 MIAC). After winning seven of its last nine games, St. Olaf heads to Parade Stadium in Minneapolis to face Augsburg University on Thursday.
Worcester State (2-11, 1-1) looks to clinch the series versus MCLA (4-11, 1-1) this afternoon as they journey to North Adams, MA to take on the oft rescheduled Trailblazers nine-inning game before the weather moves in. The Lancers would score four runs in the ninth innith to caputure a 7-6 win on Tuesday. Sophomore Zachary Scotti would close out the action for Worcester facing five batters and allowing just a single hit in the inning to secure the series victory for the Lancers. Craig Barnes would go 6.2 innings in the game allowing just three runs while striking out six while Sierra and Scotti would combine for just one hit and two strikeouts in their outings.
Berry (21-9 overall) traveled to Covenant for a non-conference contest where they defeated the Scots in 7 innings 17-7. The Vikings began the top of the first with five hits and seven runs to put the Scots away early. Joey Garcia singled to right field and Nick Brunswick reached after being hit by a pitch before Riley Uhls' double scored Garcia to begin the running parade. This marked the first of four hits and four RBI's for Uhls, on his way to lead the team at the plate for the day. Cam Welsh, the winning pitcher for today, came to the mound in the bottom of the third and the home team would find three runs and three hits to bring the score to 9-5. Things were quite for the next few innings, but the Vikings picked it back up in the sixth. The team's 17 runs scored is a season best along with their 14 runs batted in.
Freshman Carter Schuma earned his first collegiate win with seven strikeouts in five scoreless innings as Randolph-Macon posted a 12-3 victory over No. 22 North Carolina Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon. RMC has won eight of its past nine games. Myles Webb went 1 for 3 with one walk, one run and two RBI. He extended his hitting streak to 16 games. Webb had three stolen bases to raise his team-leading total to 13.

Sam Porter smashed back-to-back home runs in the eighth and ninth innings and the Simpson College beat Nebraska Wesleyan 13-6 on Tuesday afternoon. Porter hit a solo shot in the eighth followed by a three-run bomb in the ninth to help lift the Storm (9-13, 2-5) to their second-straight American Rivers Conference victory. He finished the day 3-for-5 with a walk, four RBIs and three runs scored. Sam Porter is the first player to hit multiple home runs in a single game since Brady Held hit a pair at Nebraska Wesleyan on March 29, 2022. Porter becomes the 15th player in school history to launch two home runs in the same game.
New England College won 7-5 over visiting University of Saint Joseph in Great Northeast Athletics Conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Laurie Cox Memorial Field in Henniker, New Hampshire. With the game scoreless, the Pilgrims busted out in the bottom of the third inning and would add two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. After a scoreless frame for the Pilgrims, the hosts entered the top of the ninth still clinging to a two-run lead. NEC junior right-handed pitcher Austin Hazzard was given the close, and he slammer the door on the Blue Jays, allowing just one-base runner before retiring the side, recording his first career save.
A complete game shutout from Owen Radcliffe and a two-out ninth-inning rally pushed WPI to a 2-0 victory on the road at Wheaton on Tuesday afternoon. The win lifts the Engineers to 13-7 overall, 1-1 in NEWMAC play, while the Lyons fall to 9-6, dropping their first conference game to go to 3-1. Radcliffe threw nine innings of shutout ball, scattering five hits to move to 2-2 on the season. He struck out a career-high 10 batters, issuing just one walk in the game.
Southwestern (14-11) returned the favor to the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders (17-8) on Tuesday Night, this time traveling up to Belton, Texas, to play UMHB in non-conference action. Southwestern found themselves down 0-7 after the bottom of the third inning. However, the Pirates manufactured three runs in the top of the fifth and eighth innings and four runs in the top of the ninth to secure a 10-8 comeback victory over the Crusaders. Maxwell Mims had three hits on the night and racked up two extra-base hits, including a double and a triple. Owen Stevenson hit a three-run shot in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at 7-7. Freshman Cale Cochran gained an RBI for the Pirates, his second of the year. The Pirates threw eight different pitchers on the night; Braden Anderson recorded his third win on the mound this season and Ryan Corbett secured the save. Tres Organ was walked three times against the Crusaders, the most of either team. Six different Pirates drove in runs, including James Vaquero, Christian Melillo, and Alexander Cannata.
Behind great pitching from junior John Steed and a perfect day at the plate for Ben Jerome, Nichols College topped Brandeis University on Tuesday afternoon from Stein Baseball Diamond. The Bison won 9-1 over the Judges. Jerome was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with three walks and an RBI. Senior Johnny Knox was the other Bison with three hits, going 3-6, and scoring twice in the win. Classmate Andrew Croteau and graduate student Jim Marasco each tallied two RBI, to lead the team. Steed (2-0) secured his second win of the season, throwing 5.0 innings and allowing one run on four hits. Junior Sean Ryan struck out four batters in 3.0 innings of work, while also recording 100th strikeout in the process for Nichols. Classmate Nolan Sullivan made an appearance in the ninth inning and struck out two batters.
Junior Jack Boyle went 3 for 4 and first-year Matt Tabet threw six strong innings Tuesday as Amherst College snapped Westfield State's six-game win streak with a 10-5 victory on Memorial Field. Jack Boyle has 2 runs scored and 2 RBI with 4 stolen bases to go along with his 3 for 4 performance. Charlie LaFreniere (2 for 3), Christian Fagnant and Jack McDermott (2 for 4) each had two hits. Padian was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI. Amherst had 11 hits and drew 10 walks from Owls' pitching. Matt Tabet went a career-high six frames, giving up nine hits and five runs, four earned. He walked just one and struck out four. Jack Sampedro threw two shutout innings of relief, not allowing a baserunner, and Adrian Caron also toss a hitless, shutout ninth to close out the game.
Plattsburgh State Cardinals won their third straight game at Jack Phillips Stadium in Potsdam, New York, defeating Clarkson 12-10 in a strong road win on Tuesday over the Golden Knights. The Cards jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the fifth and held on to win to snap a three-game losing skid. Mike Rasquin had a strong game in the leadoff spot, collecting three hits while scoring and driving in two runs. First-year Frankie Kowal had three hits and two RBI while both Joey Di Rocco and Aidan Diltz each had two hits and two RBI. The pair kept their averages over .400 with Diltz leading the team batting .410 and Di Rocco currently hitting .404. Dylan Bass earned his third win of the season with 5.1 innings of work on the mound, giving up four earned runs while striking out two. Nick Goldberg earned his first career save, going 3.2 innings and striking out three batters.
No. 1 Endicott defeated Gordon, 10-3, in conference action on Tuesday evening at J. Tec White Field. Endicott scored six runs in the middle innings to pull away from Gordon and push its winning streak to eight straight games. The Gulls' four-run fourth featured a pair of two-run singles by TJ Liponis and Zach Stephenson. Stephenson also added a bases loaded walk in the sixth, while James Benestad made it 6-1 with a sacrifice fly to right field. In the seventh, Robbie Wladkowski struck for an RBI double to left center before Liponis and Benestad tacked onto the lead at 9-1 with run-producing singles later in the frame. Stephenson capped the scoring in the ninth with a sacrifice fly to center, giving him a career-high four RBI on the day.
Lewis & Clark College set single-season highs in almost every offensive category, as the Pioneers posted their most runs scored (26) and largest winning margin (23) since 2006, in a non-conference win over Corban University on Tuesday afternoon at Jerry Gatto Field. The Pioneers scored multiple runs in six of the first seven innings en-route to single-season highs in runs (26), hits (18), RBI (26), doubles (eight), home runs (four), walks (12) and sacrifice flies (three). Ten players recorded hits, five players scored and 12 players drove in runs as the Pioneers moved back above .500. Senior Jakob Ghammachi went 3-4 with three runs scored, a team-high five RBI and hit two home runs in the first four innings. Junior Will Heron added two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI. Luke Bass reached 100 career RBI on Saturday in game two against George Fox (game two). His 101 RBI, after Tuesday's game, are tied for eighth in program history.
With the crazy weather in the Los Angeles area over the last few weeks, many games have been moved around. Whitter had an impromptu game Tuesday afternoon. The Poets took on the Westcliff University Warriors in a non-conference matchup. A bullpen day for Whittier 7 different pitchers and some huge hits carried the Poets to a 5-4 victory. This was a great victory for Whittier, as they will look to keep the momentum going into the weekend for their series against Redlands. The Poets' head coach Mike Rizzo is only 1 win away from his 400th career victory.
