Allegheny began their 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule with a sweep of Waynesburg Saturday on the road. The Gators won game one 15-0 and game two 11-7. The Gators put up three runs on three hits in the second and by the seventh the lead grew to 15-0 after a six run seventh. After Mark Schweickert threw six innings of shutout ball, Brett McSparran finished the game as the Gators picked up the game one win. In the nightcap, the Gators got to work right away with a run in the first. The score remained 1-0 until the sixth when Allegheny added four in the sixth and six in the seventh. The Yellowjackets finally cracked the scoreboard in the seventh, scoring three runs. In the bottom of the ninth, Waynesburg added four more runs, but it was not enough as the Gators started conference play with a sweep.
Whitman College rebounded nicely after dropping three of four at Puget Sound, sweeping a doubleheader, 13-9 and 8-2, today against Lewis & Clark in the team's Northwest Conference home opener on Saturday at Borleske Field. Home runs from AJ Romero (2 H, 2 R, 2 RBI), Brandon Ting (3 H, 3 R, 3 RBI), Jack Bickerton (2 H, 2 R, 3 RBI) and Beck Maguire (2 H, 4 R, 4 RBI) accounted for eight of Whitman's runs as the Blues outlasted the Pioneers in the opener. On a short week for the Blues, Wyatt Adams (3-2) pitched six strong innings and picked up the win allowing four runs on nine hits with four strikeouts. Tristan Buehring's two-run double in the first and Sam Mieszkowski-Lapping's bases-clearing double in the sixth provided Whitman's fireworks in the nightcap. Oliver Brown (5-0) picked up the win for the Blues, working six and two-thirds innings while allowing two runs on seven hits.
Behind a pair of terrific starts from graduate Kolton Banfi and senior Ryan Gibbons, Westminster (Pa.) opened its Presidents' Athletic Conference slate Saturday with a sweep of Franciscan University. The Titans scored four times in the eighth to register a 7-3 win in game one before pounding out a season-high 18 hits on their way to a 15-1, run-rule victory in the nightcap. Banfi, a right-hander, tossed a complete game while the offense struck for four runs in the eighth to pull away. He allowed three runs (3 earned) on nine hits with a walk and a pair of strikeouts, improving to 2-0 in his three starts this year. Westminster scored in all six innings to secure the run-rule win. The 15 runs, 18 hits and five extra-base hits were all season highs. Gibbons, a right-hander, picked up his first win of the year Saturday, giving up one run (earned) on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. Freshman right-hander Nicholas Parrotto walked one in hitless seventh inning.
Senior Preston Cosme-Cruz highlighted a five-run fifth inning with a two-out, bases-clearing double as Eastern Connecticut State University broke open a tight game and went on to a 9-4 Little East Conference victory over Plymouth State University en route to a sweep in its conference and home-openers Saturday at the Eastern Baseball Stadium. After Eastern (10-4) won its home-opener for the tenth straight year, senior lefty Dan Driscoll and graduate righty Nathan Furino combined on an eight-hitter and senior Michael Hernandez highlighted a 15-hit attack with three hits and three runs scored in a 10-4 second-game victory.
Stockton University (8-8) evened their record with a doubleheader sweep over McDaniel College (7-11-1) by scores of 7-4 and 7-6 in 10 innings on Saturday afternoon. Nick Avagnano had a big day for the Ospreys with six hits three runs and three RBI on the day. Game one featured a sterling pitching effort from Stephen DeMilio as he tossed eight innings, allowing four hits, two runs and striking out seven hitters for his third win of the season. He got run support from his offense with one marker in the second inning, four more in the third and a pair in the fifth frame for a 7-2 lead. The nightcap turned into a tense affair with the Green Terror taking a 3-1 lead after three innings, Stockton was able to cut the lead to 3-2 after six innings and had two opportunities to knot the game in the seventh and eighth innings but came away empty. McDaniel scored in the top of the ninth inning, setting up late heroics from the home team in their half of the stanza. With one out, Robbie Ford was walked intentionally. Evan Bresnen bounced into a fielder's choice advancing Nick Avagnano to third, where he scored the eventual game winner on a wild pitch giving the Ospreys a 7-6 win and a sweep of the twin bill.
Catholic traveled to play Juniata in conference play, trying to get above .500 against Landmark teams. The offense found its footing in the late innings of game one and two solid starts from Roman Tozzi and Cody Bosak complemented the offense to lead to two wins, 8-1 and 15-7, over the Eagles. After a quiet first six innings from the Catholic offense, the team erupted for eight runs over the final three innings to take game one of the doubleheader, 8-1. The Cardinals offense exploded for 15 runs and Bosak turned in another strong start on the mound to lead the Cardinals to an eight run win to sweep the Eagles and advance to 11-7 on the season.
Mount Union swept a pair of games from Marietta College Saturday evening in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both schools. The Purple Raiders won game one, 7-2, and then took game two, 9-2. The Purple Raiders used one big inning in each game to sweep the doubleheader. In game one, senior starting right-handed pitcher Zachary Breeden had a strong outing, pitching 6.1 innings with five strikeouts and allowing only two runs. Senior right-handed pitcher Brady Hansen came in relief in the seventh inning and earned his second win of the season, pitching 2.2 innings. Junior right fielder Chris Tsouras (Las Vegas, Nev. / Arbor) added an insurance run in the top of the ninth inning with an RBI triple, securing the 7-2 win. Tsouras finished the game 3-for-4, including two extra-base hits. He has recorded 15 hits in his last nine games. In game two, Lehman got the bump on the mound and provided 5.0 innings of quality work with three strikeouts, allowing only two runs. Senior right-handed pitcher Chris Phillips (Elyria, Ohio / Elyria) entered the game in relief during the sixth inning. He delivered an outstanding performance with 4.0 innings of work and a strikeout, allowing only one hit and no runs, securing his first win of the season.
Susquehanna began its slate of home games for the 2025 season by beating Lycoming twice, 9-5 and 12-2, in a Landmark Conference doubleheader on Saturday, winning the second game by way of run-rule. The River Hawks scored nine runs in the first five innings, getting two three-run frames en route to their first home win of the season. They started with two in the bottom of the first, with Jack Cahill knocking an RBI single that scored Tony Rossi and Michael Gagliardi. Jack Greco tossed seven strong innings while fanning seven Warriors while he was backed by an eight spot in the second inning where all nine batters reached base consecutively.
Stevens Institute of Technology got a pair of strong performances on the mound from Jordan Fisse and Justin Doyle, closing out a three-game Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom sweep of King's Saturday at Dobbelaar Field with a 5-1 win in the opening game of a doubleheader and an 8-1 win in the series finale. Fisse went the distance in a seven-inning Game 1, striking out eight while walking just one, facing five above the minimum. Doyle went six innings in Game 2, also allowing just a single run while striking out nine.
Keystone College opened United East Conference play with two commanding victories over Notre Dame of Maryland 22-7 and 21-5 Saturday afternoon at Harford Community College. The Giants scored early and often as they got on the scoreboard every inning, highlighted by a seven-run first inning. Nate Ewing went 3-for-5 with five RBI while Griffin Yastremski tallied five RBI with two home runs. Andy Rivas, Carlos Pascual, and Chase Boyle all had three runs batted in. Sean Brennan moved to 4-0 on the season as he pitched four innings with three strikeouts. Nick Gravel, Dylan Byler, and Anthony Mierez pitched an inning in relief. A nine-run first inning helped Keystone secure the doubleheader sweep. Donovan Rhoden had a monster game as he recorded three hits with six RBI. The junior infielder hit two home runs in the win. Robert Estrada went 4-for-5 with four RBI. Boyle and Dee Rice combined for three hits and six RBI. Quinn Holt picked up his second win as he tossed five innings while striking out seven. Drew Sorrentino and Leam Powell also pitched an inning in relief. Sorrentino punched out one batter, and Powell struck out two. This marked the first meeting between these two schools.

Dean College grabbed their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference win of the season this afternoon, defeating Albertus Magnus College by a final score of 11-2. Arcadia University excelled in all areas of the game on Saturday as it swept its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom doubleheader against FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon, 6-3 in game one and 17-2 in game two at Skip Wilson Field. Joshua Agriesti got the scoring started in the bottom of the third with a bases-loaded walk that scored Kevin Wheeler. Max Oswald increased the lead to 3-0 when he launched a two-run homer to right in the bottom of the fifth that scored Anthony Bruno. Agriesti followed one batter later with a solo home run to right. The Knights added two more runs with the help of an FDU-Florham error with Taro Pustilnik driving home Griffin Murphy with an RBI single. The Devils added three runs in the seventh but Arcadia was able to hold on for the victory. Mitchell Bramsway earned the win with three innings of relief, allowing three runs on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Wheeler opened the game two scoring with a double to right-center that scored Gabe Diaz. Radigan followed with a single to center that brought around Wheeler. The Knights blew the game open in the second with 10 runs on just four hits. Agriesti launched a three-run homer to dead-center in the third bringing home Oswald and Radigan. Cam Seymour and Pustilnik finished the scoring for Arcadia with RBI's in the fourth. Xavier Sjostedt earned his first win of the season, taking a no-hitter into the sixth as he allowed one run on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Visiting Clarkson University avoided the series sweep, scoring its most ever runs in the all-time series against the University of Rochester, winning 19-9 in Liberty League action on Saturday afternoon at Towers Field. The win is Clarkson's first in the last 15 games against Rochester, dating back to the 2021 season. UR falls to 7-7 on the season and is 2-1 in the Liberty League, while Clarkson moves to 7-5 overall and is 1-2 in conference play. Saturday's contest got moved up to a 10 am start due to weather, and it seemed like the Yellowjacket pitchers never got the memo, combining to allow 15 hits while issuing 11 walks, with the runs and walks allowed being the most for UR in a game this season. Three Rochester errors also contributed to nine of the runs being unearned in the game. The loss also snaps Rochester's six-game winning streak overall, all coming in the Yellowjackets current 10-game homestand that goes through Wednesday's matchup with SUNY Brockport.
Brevard College junior Logan Sawyer launched a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth that lifted the Tornados (8-14, 3-2 USA South) past Pfeiffer University (6-13, 2-3 USAS) in game one of Brevard's first USA South home series of the season on Saturday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Brevard used Sawyer's blast to push past the Falcons in game one, 13-11, before Pfeiffer responded with a 7-2 victory in the second game of the afternoon. Pfeiffer was able to respond in the second game of the doubleheader, doubling up the Tornados in the hit department (12-6) and capitalizing on seven free passes issued by the Tornados in game two for the five-run victory.
Edgewood flew south Saturday to kick off NACC action for the 2025 season. They faced off against the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks in a doubleheader. After the Scarlet Hawks (5-8, 1-1 NACC) took game one 10-6, the Eagles (5-8, 1-1) struck back with a 12-2 (7 inning) victory in the second outing. In the opener, the Scarlet Hawk offense took over the game in the eighth with a five run frame. A nine-run third from the Eagles broke the game wide open. The Eagles pushed the game into run-rule territory in the sixth and seventh inning. A two-RBI double to left center from Illinois Tech in the bottom of the seventh would not be enough to fend off the Edgewood College victory.
Bridgewater State avenged an early season WPI sweep, as the Engineers dropped a doubleheader to the Bears on Saturday at the New England Baseball Complex. Bridgewater State took game one, 14-5, and game two, 4-2. WPI falls to 7-7 on the season, while the Bears improve to 6-6. WPI fell behind early and never recovered as Bridgewater State erupted for 17 hits and five home runs in a 14-5 win in the opener. Bridgewater State used a pair of late-inning home runs to erase a one-run deficit and complete the doubleheader sweep with a 4-2 victory in Saturday's nightcap.
Saint John's (Minn.) closed its nine-game, spring-break trip with a heartbreaking 6-5 loss to Union on Saturday. Down 4-2 in the top of the ninth inning, senior first baseman Owen Best gave the Johnnies (8-7 overall) a one-run lead with a three-run homer. Caleb Miller started the bottom of the ninth inning with a single and stole second for Union (9-4 overall), but freshman Dylan Marciulionis battled back with a pair of strikeouts. The Garnet Chargers were down to their final strike – a 0-2 count – when Dylan Swarts tied the game with a triple. Noah DiCaprio provided the heroics for Union when he hits a groundball through the right side of the infield for his third hit of the game to plate in the ensuing at-bat.
LeTourneau secured a series win with a 7-1 victory in Saturday's rubber match. Ryan Brewer put on a pitching clinic, recording seven scoreless innings. Brewer overwhelmed the visiting Pirates lineup, notching six strikeouts, and allowing just three baserunners. Frank Maestri put together a strong relief appearance as he pitched the final two frames for the YellowJackets. Maestri allowed only a single run and gathered a pair of strikeouts. Stephen Rutherford was handed the loss on the hill as he would go just four innings and allowed three runs. As a squad the YellowJackets tallied double-digit knocks with 10 hits on the day. Jack Kale and Zach Baker would have extra base hits. The Pirates were led by Connor Duffey who tallied their only extra base hit.
Buena Vista has begun American Rivers Conference play with a three-game series sweep over Luther College by sweeping the doubleheader between the two teams on Saturday afternoon by scores of 6-5 (10 inn.) and 7-3 (7 inn.). Buena Vista force extra innings in the opener. Luther regained the lead in the top of the 10th with a solo home run before the Beavers again rallied in the bottom half with two outs and the bases empty. Jacob Eversole got things started with a walk, followed by singles by Zegar and Eddie to load the bases. Freshman Cooper Sobeck came through with one of the biggest hits of his young career by doubling to the gap in left center field to score Eversole while Zegar slid in just under the tag for the walk-off victory. Luther (4-12, 0-3 A-R-C) got on the board first in game two with a sacrifice fly in the second inning but the lead didn't last long as the Beavers came right back in the bottom half with a two-run double from Bock to take a 2-1 lead. The Norse regained the lead at 3-2 with two runs in the fifth inning, but BVU again responded in the bottom half with four runs, including a go-ahead 2-run double from Struck that made it 5-3. Sophomore Ean McDaniel worked out of jam in the seventh inning after the first two batters reached to earn his first complete game of the year. He got a 6-4-3 ground out followed by a game-ending groundout to Eddie at second base to close the book on the series sweep. The righthander scattered eight hits over the seven innings, allowed three runs and struck out one.
Junior right fielder and team captain Chase Sanford hit his first collegiate home run for the game-winning hit in the ninth inning of the first game, and junior center fielder and team captain Jack Wilson had three hit and four RBIs, while Sanford added another homer and three RBIs in the second game, with Wilson adding three hits,as Hampden-Sydney College split a pair of one-run games during an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader on the road at Washington and Lee University on Saturday afternoon in Lexington. Junior right-hander Sterling Austin gained the pitching win in relief in the 10-9 opener, while freshman left-hander Bobby Holihan took the mound setback in relief in the 6-5 nightcap for the visiting Tigers (11-10, 5-4) against the host Generals (7-9, 2-8).
Pitching was the name of the games at McCloskey Field on Saturday as starters on both sides had stellar showings. Frank Lynch helped Kenyon College (7-8) land a fifth straight win after one of the best games of his career was bolstered by big hits, leading to an 8-1 Owls win in the team's home opener. The Albion College Britons (5-8) bounced back in game two with the same formula, securing a split of the twin bill with a 9-1 victory. In game two, Brayden Raether threw a complete game gem. The senior allowed just six hits over nine innings, striking out a career-high 11 batters and not allowing one free pass.
Elizabethtown held on to win game one, 10-9 against Scranton before falling, 6-4 in the Landmark Conference series against the Royals. In game one, Elizabethtown got up early scoring three runs in the first and held their momentum through the fourth adding two more runs to lead, 8-0. With a 10-1 lead,the momentum switched. In the final few innings, the game belonged to Scranton as they would score in the sixth and eighth to come within just one of Elizabethtown. Game two saw Scranton score first and build their lead to 5-1. Elizabethtown cut Scranton's lead to 4-5 in the eighth as Limongelli started off the inning with a solo home run. On a bunt single and error, the Blue Jays scored their fourth and final run of the game. The Royals secured their 6-4 win with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
Mitchell College pounded out 14 hits and 10 runs on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field, powering past Anna Maria College, 10-0, in their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference game of the season, which was shortened to seven innings due to the 10-run rule. With the win, the Mariners have won four consecutive games since returning from their spring break trip and are batting .331 as a team during that span with a combined team ERA of 3.97. It was another big day for sophomore Michael Ficocelli who went 4-4 with a double, three RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Junior Kenneth Miller Jr. and freshman Ryan Dennis had three hits apiece, with Miller Jr. driving in two and scoring twice, while Dennis scored two runs of his own. Senior Michael Gajda contributed the power, blasting a three-run home run to centerfield in the bottom of the fifth, his third of the season. The AMCATS had no answer for senior right-handed pitcher Chris Gibbs was dazzled en route to his second victory of the season. Gibbs scattered three hits and a pair of walks over seven shutout innings, striking out seven.
Adrian College traveled to Wittenberg University on Saturday for an afternoon doubleheader to conclude their series. Wittenberg took the opening game of the day 12-4, but Adrian's offense exploded in the second game, leading the Bulldogs to a 19-14 victory. Adrian took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Wittenberg responded with two runs in the second inning before tying the game in the fifth. They later took an 8-3 lead in the sixth. Finn added another RBI for Adrian in the seventh with a single to left field, making it 8-4. However, Wittenberg answered with three runs in the seventh and one more in the eighth to secure a 12-4 win. Adrian's offense came alive in game two, jumping out to a commanding 10-0 lead. In the sixth inning, Wittenberg made it a one-run game, but the Bulldogs pulled away late. Easton Rogers drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh, followed by RBIs from Ryan Davis and David Kedrow in the eighth. Linken Hayward added a sac fly in the ninth to seal the 19-14 victory.
Utica University notched its first Empire 8 Conference win this afternoon as the team took down Empire 8 Conference newcomer SUNY Poly in game one of a doubleheader slate, 6-3. Five different Pioneers recorded a hit in Jacob Scalise, DaShawn Hutchinson, Ty Montrose, Jacob Pian, and Mike Rockwell, with Montrose and Michael Flint each adding two RBIs. Kody Czternastek tallied an RBI, and Lance Berger demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing two walks. Kooper Knabe notched his third win of the season after dealing four innings, giving up three hits and one run with four strikeouts. Connor Ford tallied his first save of the season after pitching three innings, allowing three hits and two runs. Game two of today's doubleheader has been postponed due to inclement weather. It will be made up on Monday, March 24 at 2pm, picking up where it was left off with SUNY Poly leading 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
The weekend keeps improving for the Cardinals as Saint Mary's (Minn.) (8-7) earned another win in Illinois, defeating the Calvin Knights (7-8) 14-9 in an exciting 10-inning game. The Cardinals are now 3-0 for the weekend and are on a five-game winning streak. The Cardinals outpaced the Knights with 19 hits, a new season best, including five doubles and a triple. The Cardinals began the game with a strong start, scoring two runs in the first inning. Devin Coyle doubled and advanced to third on a wild pitch, later scoring on a sacrifice fly by Brinton Anderson. Then, Riley Bauman reached on an error and was driven home by Stephen Golden's single, putting the team ahead early. In the fourth inning, the Cardinals tacked on another run as Noah Lahner reached second base and Coyle brought him home, making the score 4-5 in favor of the Knights. The eighth inning saw the Cardinals widen the gap with a three-run burst. The inning started with Josh Costello's single and subsequent error by Calvin's pitcher set the stage, followed by a sequence of consecutive hits and errors that resulted in three runs scored, pushing the lead to 11-6. The game reached its peak in the tenth inning as the Cardinals delivered a decisive five-run effort that secured the victory with a final score of 14-9.
