The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its fifteenth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the fourth Team of the Week of the 2026 season.
Games of March 2-8, 2026
C Robby Harrison, Sr., Capital
In seven games in Capital’s spring trip to Vero Beach, Harrison would go 12-for-25 (.480) at the plate to lead the team to a 5-3 week. The senior would have four doubles, two triples, and one home run, also tallying 11 RBIs. He would also throw out five runners from behind the plate to top off his terrific week of work.
1B Michael Soares, Sr., Clark University
Soares led the Cougars this week with a .478 batting average (11-for-23), five homers, 14 RBI’s, 10 runs, 11 hits, three doubles, and tallied a slugging percentage of 1.261 as Clark went 5-1.
2B Luke Rizzo, So., Wooster
Rizzo slashed .778/.833/2.444 and had a 3.277 OPS during a 5-0 week for the Fighting Scots. In three games played, Rizzo was 7-for-9 with eight runs, eight RBI, four homers, six extra-base hits, and two walks. He homered in each game played and had multiple hits in each win.
SS Zach Fortman, Jr., Sewanee
Fortman batted .733 (11-for-15) with one double, two triples, three home runs, nine runs scored and 18 RBIs in four games for the Tigers. He compiled a 1.667 slugging percentage on the week
3B Brayden Davis, Jr., Rowan
Davis batted .769 (10-for-13) with four runs, 10 RBI, five doubles and three home runs in the Profs' first 3 games. He slugged 1.846.
3B Lucas Orlovitz, Sr., Ithaca
Orlovitz started off the 2026 season by hitting .500 (7-for-14) with three home runs, 12 RBI, nine runs scored, three walks, a double and triple in five games. Orlovitz slugged 1.357 and posted an on-base percentage of .632 during IC's 3-2 week.
OF Xavier Diaz, So., FDU-Florham
Diaz had a monster week for the Devils as the sophomore outfielder went an astonishing 11-for-18 with one double, two triples, four RBI, and six runs scored. He was hit by a pitch four times and did not record a strikeout. He amassed 16 total bases through the five games for FDU. He finished the week batting .611 with a .682 OBP and an .889 SLG for a 1.571 OPS.
OF Max Horner, So., Manchester
Horner delivered an outstanding weekend performance at the plate in Manchester’s series against DePauw. Across the entire weekend series, Horner compiled an incredible 10-for-14 performance (.455) at the plate, driving in nine runs, scoring three times, and recording three doubles along with a grand slam — all while not striking out once.
OF Nate Kaczynski, Fr., Mass. Maritime
Kaczynski went 5-for-6 (.833) at the plate with two home runs, a double, four runs batted in, two walks, and six runs scored, helping the Bucs to their 10-9 and 11-8 victories in the doubleheader sweep of Colby-Sawyer. He slugged 2.000 on the week.
OF Anthony Mestre, Fr., Ithaca
Mestre exploded offensively in his first collegiate week as he went 10-for-19 (.526) with 10 RBI, 10 runs scored, five stolen bases and three home runs.
OF Dom Scalia, Sr., Saint Joseph (Conn.)
Scalia put together an impressive week across two games, highlighted by a walk‑off solo home run, as the Blue Jays went 2–0 to extend their win streak to four to open the 2026 season. The senior finished the week 4-for-6 (.667) at the plate with a .750 on‑base percentage and a 1.500 slugging percentage.
DH Collin O'Driscoll, Sr., Whittier
O'Driscoll had himself a career game amidst a historic day for Whittier. The senior, who DH'd against the Owls, went 5-for-5 with a walk, smashing two home runs to deep center field and adding a double and two singles for good measure. He finished the day with four RBIs and four runs scored as well.
SP Jackson Baird, Sr., Chris. Newport
Jackson pitched seven shutout innings against nationally-ranked Penn State Harrisburg to earn his first win of the season. He struck out a season-high 11 batters for his third career double-digit strikeout game and the first since 2023. During his start, he retired eight in a row with seven straight strikeouts and finished out the outing with a 1-2-3 seventh inning, striking out the side. He left the game with a big lead and the Captains coasted to a 17-5 victory against the 21st-ranked Lions after nine innings.
SP Ty Lohsen, Jr. Lasell
Lohsen fanned 11 batters while pitching a complete game no hitter in his first appearance on the season in a 12-0 win over Franciscan.
SP Jace Midbon, Sr., St. Norbert
Midbon, a senior, became the first St. Norbert pitcher since 2007 to throw a no-hitter, coming in a 17-0 victory over Maranatha Baptist on March 5. Midbon struck out a career-high 15 batters in the victory, the third most in a single game in program history.
SP Caleb Reynolds, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Reynolds was absolutely electric in a 17-strikeout performance against Southwestern. He set the school record for Ks in a game (which was previously 14). He went eight and one-third innings, scattering eight hits, allowing no runs and just one walk in the 7-0 win. All 17 strikeouts were swinging.
SP Brody Von Berg, Sr., Luther
Von Berge pitched a no-hitter, complete game in game one of the four game series versus St. Olaf. He only gave up two walks and had nine strikeouts in 26 batters faced.
RP Dawson Lewis, Fr., Capital
Lewis appeared in three games on the mound for the Comets this week in Vero Beach. In his first career appearance, the freshman would throw three shutout innings against Kenyon for his first career win. Allowing no runs, no hits, and striking out two. He would throw an inning against Lebanon Valley, where he would set down the opposition in order. In his last appearance of the week, he earned his first career save, throwing two shutout innings allowing just one hit. In total Lewis tossed 6.0 innings, allowing no runs on just one hit, all while earning his first career save and win.
