Scouting report
- Johns Hopkins started almost two months later than usual because of the constraints of COVID. The Blue Jays dropped three of their first four games and needed to win the rest of their conference schedule to make the NCAA regional playoffs. Since starting out 1-3, Johns Hopkins has won 14 of their last 15 heading into the D-III World Series.
- Johns Hopkins is the only team that is returning to the D-III World series from the last time the championship was played in 2019. JHU went 4-2, losing both games to Birmingham Southern wo went on to play Chapman in the Championship Series. JHU finished fourth in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 in 2019.
- JHU head coach Bob Babb is the dean of college coaches, currently in his 42nd season. While guiding the program to national prominence, Babb has amassed a record of 1,208-442-15 (.730) and is second among active coaches.
