While the morning games were all about avoiding elimination and advancing, in most cases, to an evening elimination game, the afternoon games had plenty of drama but each team knew they will have at least one more game. For the teams coming out ahead in the winners game, they will all advance to Sundays Championship game.
No. 4 Endicott was one of the first teams to book a spot in the regional championship game. They defeated No. 24 Concordia (Tex.), 11-0, in the NCAA Tournament Bridgewater Regional. Evan Scully's quick work of the Tornados' lineup allowed the Gulls to stay in rhythm at the plate against the Tornado's pitcher, amassing 11 runs, scoring in five of the eight innings. Scully, the junior righty, only allowed one runner to reach scoring position (T2 — 2nd) and compiled five 1-2-3 innings (3rd-5th, 7th-8th) to finish off his second straight complete-game (first career nine-inning shutout).
Starting Pitcher Kieren Collins sent top-ranked Johns Hopkins to the NCAA Regional Finals for the third-straight year with a dominant 8-3 victory over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday afternoon at Babb Field. Collins couldn't have asked for a better start from his offense in his 30th-career win - the most all-time in Johns Hopkins history. The Blue Jays (41-3) wasted no time taking the lead – one held for the remainder of the game –on a three-run homer in the first frame from senior slugger Dillon Souvignier. Collins improved to 8-1 on the season, hurling a season-high 8.0 innings, surrendering seven hits, three earned runs and a walk, striking out eight.
17th-ranked Case Western trailed by as many as six runs and were down a run heading into the bottom of the ninth against Arcadia on Saturday afternoon, but the Spartans rallied with two-outs for a 14-13 walkoff win to reach the championship game of the NCAA Division III Baseball Cleveland Regional at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland. Down to their final out in the ninth with the bases empty and trailing 13-12, graduate student first baseman Dane Camphausen singled to start the rally. He was pinch run for by junior Jasiah Harris, who proceeded to steal both second and third. After graduate student Franco Alonso drew a walk, senior pinch hitter Jay Smith was hit by a pitch to load the bases. On the first pitch of the next at bat, junior center fielder Matt Trout was hit by a pitch, forcing across the tying run. With graduate student third baseman Zack Carinci at the plate, the Spartans ran a play called "Bianca," where Smith intentionally tried to get in a rundown at second base on a pickoff attempt. Once Smith got into a rundown, Alonso broke for home and the Arcadia catcher could not handle a low throw from the second baseman as Alonso slid across the plate to give CWRU the walkoff win.
