WINCHESTER, Va. - It took an extra at-bat, but No. 2/6 Shenandoah University rallied for an 8-7, 10-inning non-league baseball win over No. 21 Salisbury University Tuesday afternoon at Bridgeforth Field.

Sophomore Keaton Neeb hit a walk-off home run to left field to lead off the SU (14-0) 10th and give the Hornets the comeback victory.

Salisbury (9-5) took a 4-0 lead with four in the top of the first of off Shenandoah starter Brian Goddard, and led 6-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

The Hornets began to claw back into it with two in the fourth (on a Clint DeHaven two-run HR), matched the Sea Gulls with one run each in the fifth and then scored one in the sixth and two in the seventh to tie.

Shenandoah tied the game in the seventh on a two-out rally. First baseman Nick Beall got things started with a single through the right side before senior Mike Smith plated Beall with a double to center.

Neeb then knotted it at 7-7 by lacing a single back through the box to score Smith easily from second.

Salisbury had an excellent chance to re-take the lead in the ninth when it loaded the bases with one out, but SU reliever Kyle Scallion induced an inning-ending 6-4-3 double play.

Scallion (1-0) earned his first win of the season by pitching the final 1 2/3 innings. He did not allow a hit and got all five outs via groundball.

Drew Baldwin (1-2) took the loss after giving up the dinger to Neeb. Baldwin, the third Salisbury pitcher, gave up one run on two hits in 2 1/3. He struck out three.

Shenandoah had 10 hits in the victory, including two each from Neeb, Beall and senior All-America Greg Van Sickler.

In addition to DeHaven and Neeb going yard, junior Cory Nelson hit a solo dinger in the fifth.

Matt Beck was 2 for 4 and Tyler Bennett 2 for 5 for the Gulls.

The Hornets host Bridgewater on Thursday at 3:30.
