ABERDEEN, Md. - No. 4/4 Shenandoah University won for the second time in as many nights with a 9-4 non-league baseball victory over Stevenson.

The Hornets (33-4) needed an extra inning to secure the win as Stevenson (12-23) tied the game with two outs in the ninth on a bases loaded walk.

Shenandoah then scored five runs in the 10th off of two Mustangs relievers before junior Kyle Scallion (6-1) worked bottom the frame to earn the win.

Scallion, who came on for senior All-America Greg Van Sickler with one out in the eighth, walked the leadoff hitter in the ninth before Stevenson loaded the bases on an infield single and an intentional walk.

Van Sickler led off the SU 10th with a single up the middle and then moved to third as both Nick Beall and Cory Nelson drew bases on balls.

Tucker Brown drove in Van Sickler with an infield single while Kevin Brashears had the final RBI of the inning with a single to right.

Mike Minch, who reached on a fielder's choice, scored the Hornets final run when he and Brashears executed a double steal of home and second, respectively.

Shenandoah had trailed 3-1 heading into the fourth after giving up a pair of unearned runs, but rallied with one run in the fourth and another in the fifth.

The run in the fifth, a solo HR by Joey Donofrio, tied the game at 3-3. SU scored an unearned run in the seventh to take the lead; Kurt Krout was hit by a pitch with two outs, stole second and came home on a Brashears fly to left that was misplayed.

Donofrio had two of the Hornets 10 hits.

Van Sickler had his first non-decision of the season on the mound after allowing three runs (one earned) on 10 hits and two walks. He also struck out four.

Shenandoah hosts Wesley tomorrow night at 6.
