SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team came out victorious in its final regular-season game of the season, earning a 3-2 victory against the Montclair State University Red Hawks on Thursday afternoon. Additionally, eight Salisbury seniors were acknowledged before the game as part of the team's senior day.

Montclair State scored the game's first run in the second inning off of a home run, but Salisbury answered quickly with a run in its half of the second. Junior catcher Tyler Bennett walked and advanced to second on a two-out single by freshman outfielder Greg Janofsky. Senior outfielder Devon Quaglietta hit a double down the right field line that allowed Bennett to tie the game at one run apiece.

The Red Hawks took the lead again in the fourth inning with a run, but it would turn out to be the only lead they would have for the rest of the game; the Sea Gulls answered back in their half of the fourth, with Quaglietta coming through with another game-tying RBI. Similar to the second inning, he came to the plate with two outs and Bennett on second before singling to drive in the run and tie the game at 2 runs.

The Gulls (29-11) would gain the lead in the sixth inning, with Bennett scoring his third run of the game. To start the inning, Bennett doubled and advanced to third on a fly ball out by junior designated hitter Chris Connor. Janofsky singled on a bunt in the next at-bat, which scored Bennett.

Senior pitcher Chris Greiner picked up his team-leading ninth win of the season as he pitched 6 2/3 innings, giving up five hits and striking out four Red Hawks in the start. Senior pitcher Nathan Young came in to relieve Greiner for an 1 1/3 innings, allowing no hits or runs and striking out one.

Senior Drew Baldwin came in to close the game in the ninth inning and picked up his team-leading seventh save of the year. Seven saves ties the Salisbury single-season record set by Corey Willey in 2003.
