Second-year Head Coach Brian Hirschberg also saw some outstanding pitching performances from his two starters today. Junior Alex Taylor (North Brunswick, N.J./North Bruswick) threw four innings allowing only one hit while striking out five. Senior Tom Koontz (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) and Dylan Baxter (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) allowed only one more hit and the game's only run in the last three innings of work.

Game two starter Bobby Miskura (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) also threw four, shutout innings of one-hit ball and struck out six to earn his first collegiate victory. Senior Pat Rock (Cranston, R.I./Providence Country Day), sophomore Matthew Hunter (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) and Francis Rossi (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) each tossed an inning and did not allow an earned run.

The Rangers second turn at the plate of the season proved to be the biggest inning of the day as the Rangers scored nine runs and sent 15 batters to the plate. The Rangers scored the first 24 runs of the game before NYU Poly Tech scored its first run of the afternoon in the top of the sixth.

Senior Michael Bodden (Toms River, N.J./Monsignor Donovan) did not record an official at bat in the first game, walking three times and reaching base on a hit-by-pitch. The Ranger left fielder scored four runs in game one and five in game two. He finished the day going 2-for-4 with nine runs scored and three stolen bases.

Freshmen Mike Klinger (Franklin Park, N.J./Rutgers Prep) and Anthony Feltre (South Brunswick, N.J./Metuchen) each had three RBIs in the first game.

The Drew offense did not slow down in game two, with six of the nine starters recording multiple-hit games. Freshman J.C. Rasic (Pasadena, Calif./Loyola) and senior Justin Mancini (Haskell, N.J./Lakeland Regional) each drove in four runs and scored a run in the contest.

The Rangers will play one more game before heading down to Fort Myers, Fla. for the Gene Cusic Classic. Drew will take the field on Wednesday at Diamondnation in Flemington, N.J. to take on Franklin & Marshall at 4:00 p.m.
