Baruch Explodes Late Again Offensively to Defeat St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) 14-12

For a third time this season, the baseball team recorded 13 hits in a game to defeat the Bears from St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, 14-12, in an exciting high-scoring non-conference contest played on Thursday afternoon at Bronx Community College.

The Bearcats (9-8) trailed 8-6 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning, but exploded with eight runs on four hits to defeat the Bears (13-3) for the second time this season.


Nicholas Pomo-Roman(3-for-5, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Daniel Arango  (3-for-5, 2 RBI, 2 runs) had the hot bats this afternoon with three hits each, while John Yuksekolfinished 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Overall, eight different players had at least one hit.


Paul Perez gets the victory in relief to improve his record to 3-2, while Joseph Caliearned the save.  

The two teams struggled fielding as they each committed six errors.

Baruch will return to action against Yeshiva University on Sunday, April 7, with a 12:00 pm CUNYAC road contest at Taft High School in the Bronx.
