ASHLAND, Va. – Freshman Jordan Schmeer (Richmond, VA / Benedictine) belted his first collegiate home run as the Randolph-Macon baseball team went 0-3 this weekend following a 7-1 loss against Rowan on Sunday at Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park.

The Yellow Jackets (2-5) took the early edge with Schmeer's solo homer in the first inning. Left-hander James Walsh (Mechanicsville, VA / Atlee) (0-1) kept the Profs (3-0) offense at bay for the first three innings before a two-run home run gave Rowan the 2-1 advantage. RU continued that surge with 12 total hits. R-MC finished the game with two hits and two left on base.

Schmeer finished the day one for four alongside Jay Patti (Sparks, MD / Hereford) who was one for three.

The Randolph-Macon baseball team returns to Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park Wednesday, February 26 as they host Catholic University for a 2:30 pm non-conference game.
