AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Albion College baseball coach Scott Carden was pleased with the approach his student-athletes brought to the field Tuesday and the Britons walked off the field at Lake Myrtle Park with a 15-9 victory over the College of Mount Saint Joseph.

Carden wanted his team to prove its Monday walk-off win over Wittenberg University wasn't a fluke. The Britons waited for Mount Saint Joseph starting pitcher Collin Shaw to throw strikes as they turned three first-inning walks into three runs. Kyle Kowal drove in a run on a bases-loaded walk and Lee Madziar rapped a two-run single.

"I was proud of the way we came out and swung the bats," Carden said. "We never stopped attacking offensively. I thought our approach at the plate was good and I thought our defense played well."

The three-run first inning was enough support for Matt Temrowski who yielded two runs on four hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out seven.

Albion hitters worked 13 walks. Brendan Diamond and Michael Fischbach drew three walks apiece.

Albion was cruising, leading 12-2 after 5 ½ innings. The Britons scored five times in the fifth and two in the sixth. Spencer Bonofiglio delivered a key hit in the fifth with a two-run double to left field. Bonfiglio collected three of Albion's 12 hits.

Relievers Bob Green. Bill Radatz, and Gunnar Owens were not charged with any earned runs over the final 3.2 innings.

Albion will play a junior varsity game against Penn State Abington Wednesday, weather permitting. The varsity team returns to action Thursday with a doubleheader against Waynesburg at Chain Of Lakes Park in Winter Haven.
