Box Score The Webster University baseball team concluded its trip to Florida with a 6-3 win over Baldwin-Wallace University (OH), on March 15 in Punta Gorda, FL.  Pitcher Chris Jansen picked up his first win as a Gorlok and first baseman Jeff Kammer had a home run and three RBIs to pace the Webster offense.

Jansen (JR, Cicero, IN/St. Joseph's College) went five innings, allowed seven hits and a walk, and two earned runs while striking out four.  Brett Buchanan (SR, Villa Park, IL/Willowbrook HS) took over in the sixth, and pitched the final four innings for his second save of the season.  Buchanan scattered five hits and allowed one run, striking out five.

As has been the case in most of their games in Florida, the Gorloks jumped on top early.  In the top of the first, leadoff man Corey Lasky (SR, Vernon Hills, IL/Adlai E Stevenson HS) singled, took third on a Ryan Hall (SR, Chesterfield, MO/Eureka HS) single, and scored on a Taylor Stoulp (SR, St. Louis, MO/ST.; Mary's HS) sacrifice fly.  Kammer followed with a two-run home to make it 3-0 Webster.

Webster made it 4—0 in the fifth when Hall and Stoulp singled, and Kammer singled in Stoulp.  Baldwin-Wallace score single runs in the third, fifth, and seventh, to close the gap to 4-3.

The Gorloks picked up runs in the 8th and 9th innings.  In the 8th, Joe Winckel (SR, Bonne Terre, MO/North County HS) , Ian Foege (SR, Eureka, MO/Eureka HS), and Matt Wollnik (FR, Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley HS) had consecutive singles, scoring Connor Hogan (FR, New Lenox, IL/Lincoln Way West HS), pinch running  for Winckel.  Webster picked up a run on a Yellow Jacket error in the 9th, for the 6-3 final.

Kammer was 2-5, with a home run, three RBIs, and a run scored.  Hall, who leads the team with a .467 batting average, was 3-4, with three runs scored.  Stoulp was 2-3, with an RBI, and Wollnik was 2-4, with an RBI.  Winckel have the second highest average on the team, hitting .407.

Webster is 5-2 on the season.  The Gorloks will be back in St. Louis on March 21 as they travel to Washington University for a single game at 3:00 p.m.
