Austin College sophomore Brett Moody made Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference history in 2015, setting a new single season record for the lowest earned-run-average in league history.
Moody, a right handed pitcher from Allen, Texas, broke a 13 year old record by finishing the year with an ERA of 0.97. The previous record of 1.13 was set in the 2002 season. Moody allowed just six earned runs in 55.2 innings of work in eight pitching appearances this season. Moody started seven games and threw three complete games on the year.
The sophomore was named the SCAC Pitcher of the Week once this season, and finished the year with 33 strikeouts against just seven walks on the year. For the season, Moody had a WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched) of just 1.01 and finished the year with a record of 2-2.
