LOS ANGELES -- Will Martel went the distance, Jack Brancheau was 3 for 4 with an RBI-double and the Occidental baseball team won its 13th game in a row with a 4-1 win over Rutgers-Newark on Sunday.
Season Impact: The Tigers earn their fourth three-game sweep in a row, improving to 15-4 overall.
Oxy is sitting at 10-2 in first place in SCIAC and hasn't lost since the second game of its SCIAC-opening series against Chapman on Feb. 20.
Rutgers-Newark falls to 5-8.
Martel pitched a complete game, allowing just one earned run with four strike outs, on five hits and a walk.
Brancheau, who has reached base safely in all but one of Oxy's 19 games and has gotten a hit in all but two, drove in Oxy's first run in the bottom of the first.
Graham Pimm brought in Jared Baur with an RBI-single for the Tigers' second run in the second and then Oxy scrapped together two more during the seventh when Brady Fuller grounded out to score Wilson Terrall and Caccamo hit a sac fly that brought in Pimm.
Next Game: The Tigers open an important three-game series against second-place Redlands (14-6, 9-3 SCIAC) on Friday at 3 p.m. at Anderson Field.
