SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 26, 2016) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Hendrix completed a three-game sweep of the Sewanee baseball team, Saturday, at historic Montgomery Field.

The Warriors won the first game 6-3 and then took the nightcap 6-4.

Game One – Hendrix 6 --- Sewanee 3

Like they did on Friday, the Warriors jumped out in front early. Drew Judson gave Hendrix an early 1-0 lead when he scored on a fielder's choice by Justin Robison in the top of the first.

The Warriors added another run an inning later when Jorge Leon had a SAC fly to left that scored J.R. McAuley.

Sewanee actually took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth as Trey Akins had an RBI triple and Jackson Cooper and Ryan Poole both drove in runs.

Unfortunately, Hendrix tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the fifth when Wyatt Hogan singled and Judson scored on an error by the Tigers.

In the top of the sixth, it was Judson this time that doubled in Leon with two outs.

Hendrix then added a late insurance run in the top of the eighth.

Overall, Akins led Sewanee going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Judson paced Hendrix with a 4-for-5 performance, which included two doubles and three runs scored.

On the mound, Hendrix starter Daniel Imbro earned his fourth win after he allowed only three hits while striking out nine in a complete-game effort.

Game Two – Hendrix 6 --- Sewanee 4
After both teams scored a run in the third, Sewanee took a one-run lead in the bottom of the fourth when Cooper scored on a wild pitch.

An inning later, Akins continued his outstanding day with another triple, this time scoring both Josh Roberts and Beau Allen.

Sewanee continued to lead 4-1 until the top of the seventh. In the inning, Hendrix's offense came alive with three hits and five runs.

From there, Hendrix starter Will Nichol closed the door on any Sewanee comeback by getting three straight groundouts to end the game.

Sewanee returns to action with a 2:00 p.m. game against regional-rival Covenant, Tuesday.
