Kalamazoo College's Orr throws no-hitter at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. - Kalamazoo College's Ryan Orr threw a no-hitter in a 2-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader at Olivet on Saturday.

Game One

Orr faced the minimum number of batters while throwing the fourth no-hitter in school history. The only Comet to reach base reached on a fielding error to lead off the bottom of the third inning. He was quickly wiped off the bases attempting to steal.

Orr struck out a career high nine batters while getting eight ground outs and three fly outs.

Kalamazoo had five hits in the game led by Connor Grant's 2-for-2 effort.

Game Two

After a slow start offensively Kalamazoo scored two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth. Jack Clark led off the fifth with a home run while Josh Reuter had a two RBI single in the inning.

Kalamazoo added two more runs in the seventh before Olivet got on the board with two in the bottom half. The Hornets added another run in the eighth and two more in the ninth to make it 10-2.

Josh Reuter finished 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Ian Kobernick had a pair of hits including a double and a triple. Jack Clark had two hits including the home run. David Kracht also had a double in the game.

Aaron Schwark earned the win on the mound in seven innings of work, striking out five and walking one.

Kalamazoo returns home to finish the series with Olivet on Sunday, April 24 beginning at 1 p.m.
