The Short Story: Johns Hopkins won its fifth consecutive game and improved its unbeaten streak to 15 Friday with a 10-3 victory over visiting Washington College. Hopkins clinched the Centennial Conference regular season title and will host the CC tourney for the second-straight year. The Jays hit four home runs in the win and got a dominating, five-inning effort from Preston Betz out of the bullpen. 

The Blue Jays scored the first three runs of the game, but Washington scored three of its own in the top of the third to tie it up. Hopkins bounced back four runs, all with two outs, in the home half of the third and never looked back. The big blow in the third inning was a three-run home run off the bat of Ryan Orgielewicz.

Wyatt Lam started the game for Hopkins and tossed three innings before Betz came in. Betz struck out five Shoremen while scattering four hits and a walk en route to earning his third win of the season. Alex Ross came in to pitch a perfect ninth inning for the Jays.
