GAME 1

Trailing 3-1 through four innings, baseball got took their second lead of the afternoon after scoring three runs in the top of the fifth.  However the Panthers clawed right back with three more runs in the bottom of the same inning to make it 6-4 in favor of PSU.

Down but not out, the Beacons tacked on three more runs of their own in the top of the sixth and added an insurance run in the seventh to earn the come-from-behind 8-6 win.

Boudrias led UMass in the game one victory as he went 2-for-5 with three RBI.  Murphy and Dan Mantoni (Northbridge, Mass.) each put-up two hits and had two runs, with Murphy also driving in a run.

The Panthers did respond with a run in the bottom of the ninth, but Garcia would get the final out to give UMass their 23rd win of the year, and his seventh save.
