The Baruch College Bearcats suffered a tough 4-3 non-conference loss to the Knights of Mount Saint Mary College on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Dutchess Stadium in upstate Fishkill, New York.

The Knights narrowly earned the win with a run in each of the first, third, sixth and seventh innings to jump ahead, 4-0.

The visiting Bearcats did not slow down and came storming back to get as close as 4-3 in the ninth inning.

The rally started with two outs in the eight inning.
Ramon Moreta singled and would later come around to score on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 4-1.

In their final at-bat of the ninth,
Nicholas Altopiedi reached base and went as far as second on the same play on a throwing error by the shortstop. Gilberto Mendoza, Jr.. singled down the right field line to plate Altopiedi for the 4-2 score.

Mendoza advanced to third on a single by
Michael McGroarty and came home on a fielder's choice RBI by Raymond Maurer.

The Blue Knights bullpen stopped any more scoring to clinch the 4-3 home win.
