VERONA, WI - The Benedictine University baseball team recorded their first conference sweep of the season, bettering Edgewood College in a pair of road tilts.

THE DETAILS
• Frank Greco improved to 5-0 in as many starts by striking out six in five innings of work in the opener
• Benedictine rallied from down 2-0 to score eight runs late and pull away for a win
• D.J. Dillon homered leading off the fifth to jump start the comeback for Benedictine
• Andrew Hotze doubled with one away in the sixth and along with Erik Callaghan scored on a two-run single from Dillon to put Benedictine ahead for the first time
• The game really broke open with a grand slam off the bat of Hotze in the seventh, running the score to 7-3
• Hotze added a fifth RBI with a single to drive home Brandon Gipson in the eighth
• Benedictine failed to hold a five-run lead in the second contest but struck four four ninth inning runs to notch the sweep
• With one away in the third Jimmy McLaughlin singled and Chayancze Stirbis was hit by a pitch
• Both runners scored on an error before Tanner Kiser logged an RBI double and Marco D'Angelo tacked on an RBI single
• After Edgewood scored twice in the bottom of the inning, Benedictine plated three more in the fourth
• Stirbis drove home a pair with a double and Callaghan pushed the lead to 7-2 with a double
• Trailing 8-5, Edgewood evened the score with a single run in the seventh and two in the eighth
• Kiser quickly turned the tables with a two-run homer in the ninth
STAT LEADERS
• Greco allowed just one earned run in the first contest while walking four
• Four different relievers tossed blank frames to preserve the win as Frank Meisl, Jacob Trumpis, Drake Berman and Will Diessner all appeared
• Berman struck out a pair in a perfect eighth
• The offense raked 15 hits led by four from Hotze as seven individuals registered a hit
• Jack Feeley tallied three hits out of the leadoff slot
• Five players posted multi-hit performances
• The second contest saw 13 hits with McLaughlin pacing the attack with three
• Kiser drove home three and eight individuals collected hits
• Marty Maves picked up the win in relief with two scoreless innings
