GAME ONE
• Score: Johns Hopkins - 1, Muhlenberg - 0

• Pitching Decision: W – Alex Ross (1-3) • L – RJ Hennessey (3-3)
• The Short Story: Alex Ross was dominating on the mound, striking out a career-high 15 batters in a complete game shutout as Johns Hopkins took game one from Muhlenberg, 1-0.
How it Happened
• Robert Cappadona led off the game with a double to right field and advanced to third on a groundout, however, Alex Ross retired the Mules and left Cappadona stranded at third.
• Ross struck out four consecutive batters before a groundout in the third. Ross then surrendered a to Cappadona but retired John Serruto to end the inning.
• The senior lefty retired Muhlenberg in order in the fourth and fifth innings with four of the six outs coming via the strikeout.
• With one out in the fifth Dillon Bowman tripled to right center on the first pitch he saw and came around to score the first run of the game on a Tim Kutcher double to left.
• Ross retired the first two batters in the sixth before surrendering a single to Jonh Serruto, but he got Billy Brittingham looking to end the inning.
• Once again Ross got the Mules in order in the seventh in eighth innings adding four more Ks to his total.
• In the ninth, Serruto singled to right, but Ross tied his career-high in Ks with a strikeout of Brittingham. Another single from Matt Riebesell put runners on the corners with two outs, but Ross got Jon Capra swinging to set a new career-high in Ks and seal the shutout victory.
Inside the Box Score
• The 15ks from Ross set a new career-high and are the fourth most by a Blue Jay pitcher in team history. He went the full nine allowing just four hits and one walk. It was the third complete game of his career and second this season. The shutout victory was the second in his career.
• Kutcher and Mike Eberle led Hopkins with two hits each in the game.
GAME TWO
• Score: Johns Hopkins - 5, Muhlenberg - 1
• Records: JHU (15-9, 5-1 CC) • Muhlenberg (10-13, 3-3 CC)
• Pitching Decision: W – Nick Bodner (2-0) • L – Timmy Pilrun (2-2)
• The Short Story: Nick Bodner went seven strong innings as JHU completed the doubleheader sweep of Muhlenberg winning game two by a score of 5-1.
How it Happened
• Both starters were in control of the early portion of the game as the two teams combined for just three hits for the first three innings.
• The Blue Jays broke open the scoring as Kutcher singled to lead off the third and came into score on a Zach Jaffe double. Jaffe advanced to third on a Mike Smith fly out and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Alex Darwiche to make the score 2-0.
• JHU added a run in the fifth as Smith came around to score on a double play ball to put Hopkins up 3-0.
• Bodner worked around two Mule's singles in the sixth, eliminating Reitmeyer on a double play ball and getting Brittingham swinging to end the frame.
• With the bases loaded in the sixth, Jaffe hit a sacrifice fly to make the score 4-0.
• Bradley Martin got his third hit on the day as he doubled to right and came around to score the fifth Blue Jay run in the eighth on a double by Chris DeGiacomo.
• The Mules got a run off John Donohue in the ninth, but that's all they would get as JHU completed the sweep with a 5-1 win.
Inside the Box Score
• Bodner went seven innings scattering five hits. He walked one and struck out two. Donohue pitched the final two innings allowing two hits, one run (unearned) with no walks and one strikeout.
• Martin and DeGiacomo led the team with three hits apiece while Jaffe had a team-high two RBI.
• Hopkins outhit the Mules 12-7 in the game.
What it Means
• JHU is 40-18 against Muhlenberg and has won the last three meetings.
•The five-game winning streak is the longest of the season for Hopkins.

• Hopkins returns to the diamond tomorrow as JHU hosts a non-conference game against Catholic. First pitch is scheduled for 5 pm.
