AUBURNDALE, FL - The Benedictine University baseball team began a difficult nine-game residency in Florida for spring break with a split of contests against teams from the St. Louis area.

GAME ONE
• Benedictine plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to erase an early 1-0 hole
• Jonathan Hodo evened the game with a one-out RBI double to score Michael Chaffin
• Hodo scored the go-ahead run on a double from Jack Surin
• Greenville scored runs in the second and third to take a 3-2 lead before Benedictine opened the flood gates in the sixth, scoring five times
• Hodo led off by drawing a walk and scored from first on a double from Surin, tying the game
• Nicholas Quick followed by singling home the go-ahead run
• Tyler Woynerowski and Brenden Norberg added RBI doubles in the inning while Jack Feeley singled home the final run
• Benedictine would add one in the seventh and two in the eighth on a single from Jimmy McLaughlin to pull away
GAME ONE LEADERS
• Stephen Sewruk spun a quality start, allowing just two earned runs in six innings to notch his first collegiate win
• Sewruk did not walk a batter and struck out four
• Alexnder Schram twirled two scoreless innings and Matt Grubb finished out the victory
• Feeley and Woynerowski each tallied three hits as Benedictine finished with 15
GAME TWO
• Both teams did all of the scoring early as the starters settled in after the first two innings under the lights
• Webster, ranked 15th in the country, notched a single run in the bottom of the first inning when the first two batters reached
• Benedictine responded with three runs in the top of the second to grab the lead
• Woynerowski led off with a double and scored on a one-out double from McLaughlin
• A pair of unearned runs scored with two outs when Kyle Mitter reached on an error as Benedictine held a 3-1 lead
• Webster came back with three runs in the bottom of the inning and neither team scored the rest of the way
• Benedictine placed the tying run on base four times but could not even the contest
• Benedictine and Webster were supposed to meet earlier in the season in St. Louis, but the games were canceled, leading to the makeup in Florida
GAME TWO LEADERS
• James Wright worked six innings on the hill, suffering the loss
• Ty Liaromatis threw two scoreless innings
• McLaughlin was the only player to tally more than one hit, finishing with two as Benedictine notched six

Benedictine (2-3) takes on The College of New Jersey tomorrow afternoon as the trip continues.
