TUCSON, Ariz. - Senior Peyton Renning singled home a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth inning which capped an exciting 11-10 comeback victory for the Buena Vista University baseball team on Friday evening against Lourdes.

Lourdes jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning only to see BVU respond right back with six of its own in the bottom half.  The Gray Wolves went back up 10-6 with two runs in the third and two more in the fifth.

The Beavers slowly chipped away at that lead as Coleman Roberts drove home a run in the sixth, Nick Henrichs had an RBI in the seventh before Renning drove home one run in the eight and the game-winning runs in the ninth.  The reigning American Rivers Conference Male Athlete of the Week finished 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run scored.  Bryce Rheault was 3-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases and four runs scored.  Henrichs chipped in with three hits of his own and drove in one.  Joe Rock and Ryley McGregor each had two hits, and RBI with McGregor also stealing three bases.

Andrew Bower (1-0) pitched the final 2.1 innings for the Beavers in relief and earned the win.  He did not allow a hit and struck out four.

Buena Vista evens its record at 4-4 and will play a seven-inning doubleheader against Hamline University on Saturday starting at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
