NAPERVILLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team broke out the bats for a second consecutive contest, winning a road non-conference game at North Central.

THE DETAILS
Benedictine blew the game open with a huge top of the second
Jack Surin opened the inning with a solo homer, just the second of the season hit by Benedictine
Cameron Falk followed with a single and Benedictine was able to load the bases with no outs
Michael Chaffin drove home the second run with a bases loaded walk
Jimmy McLaughlin added an RBI single to make the score 3-0
Jack Feeley reached on an error as another run came around
Surin delivered his second homer of the inning with two outs, a grand slam
North Central plated a run in the bottom of the inning against starter Justin Sosa before McLaughlin doubled home a run in the third, once again making the lead eight runs at 9-1
Both teams scored in the fifth
Chaffin opened with a single and scored on a two-out double from Damen Castillo
North Central pulled within 10-4 by scoring twice in the fifth
Benedictine tacked on three runs in the seventh to pull away
Surin drove home his sixth run of the day with a bases loaded single
Falk added an RBI on a fielder's choice and Chase Patterson lifted a sacrifice fly
Tyler Woynerowski capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the eighth

Surin finished with three hits, homering twice and driving home six
McLaughlin also posted three hits, drawing two walks
Brenden Norberg came in late and posted doubles in both of his plate appearances
Benedictine drew eight walks in the game and took advantage of five errors, totaling 15 hits to match a season high
Eight of the hits were for extra bases
Sosa tossed five innings to pick up the win, his first of the year
Sosa surrendered two runs on six hits with three walks and four strikeouts
Ryan Litavecz logged two innings, notching a pair of strikeouts
Marty Maves pitched the eighth and Ty Liaromatis handled the ninth
