LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team was swept in a doubleheader at home by the #1 team in the country, Concordia Chicago, who clinched the conference title with a win in the opener.

CONCORDIA CHICAGO 6, BENEDICTINE 4
• Concordia Chicago built a 4-0 lead early in the opener with runs in each of the first three innings including a two-run homer to chase starter Ryan Miller in the third
• Benedictine tallied runs in the third and fourth to begin chipping away
• Jared Trivette scored an unearned run in the third on a balk
• Jimmy McLaughlin nailed his second homer of the season in the fourth on a 3-2 offering, clearing the wall in right
• Concordia Chicago tacked on a pair in the sixth to build a 6-2 edge
• After stranding two runners on base in the top of the inning, Benedictine scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to account for the final
• Jack Feeley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run and Logan Shepard added a pinch-hit RBI single
• With the bases loaded and no outs, Benedictine was unable to push across another run and left the tying runs on base in the ninth
GAME ONE LEADERS
• Benedictine managed just four hits in the opener with four different individuals logging hits
• Miller suffered the loss after working 2.1 innings
• Ryan Litavecz worked 4.2 innings in relief, allowing a pair of runs
• Ty Liaromatis and Marty Maves each worked an inning
CONCORDIA CHICAGO 7, BENEDICTINE 6
• Concordia Chicago built a 3-0 lead in the second contest
• Benedictine grabbed the lead with a four-run fourth, opened with a walk
• With runners at first and second an infield hit followed by an error enabled Benedictine to get on the board as two runs scored
• Jared Trivette tied the game with a sacrifice fly and Feeley coaxed a bases loaded walk
• Concordia Chicago tied the game with an unearned run in the sixth but Benedictine scored twice in the bottom of the inning to again lead at 6-4
• Brenden Norberg scored on an error and Kyle Mitter crossed when Feeley singled
• An error with two outs in the eighth allowed two runs to score and tie the game
• Concordia Chicago won the game in the ninth, beating a throw to the plate with the infield in
GAME TWO LEADERS
• Stephen Sewruk worked six innings but did not factor in the decision
• Litavecz, Liaromatis and Maves all came back on the mound in the second contest
• Jack Surin and Nicholas Quick posted two hits each in the second game as Benedictine finished with seven
NOTES
• Feeley saw his hitting streak come to an end at 24 games in the opener but reached base in both contests and owns a 27-game on-base streak
• Mitter has now reached base in 24 straight
• Litavecz has pitched in over half the games this season, 19 in total
• Four seniors were honored before the game, Maves, Quick, Cameron Paladines and Michael Santarelli
• Concordia Chicago has now won seven consecutive NACC titles
