CHILLICOTHE, Ohio—Denison scored three runs in the top of the ninth, erasing a one-run deficit to defeat the College of Wooster, 5-3.  The win forces the if-necessary championship game which will be played on Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio.

After a 7-0 victory over Allegheny in Friday's opener, Denison kept its tournament title hopes alive.  Head coach Mike Deegan turned to first-year pitcher Kenny Lippmanagainst the Fighting Scots and he was fantastic in what was the most high-leverage situation of his young career.  In 5.1 innings pitched, Lippman allowed two runs on three hits with four strikeouts.  He left the game in the sixth and handed the ball to classmate Henry Haack.

Haack got Denison out of a jam in the sixth and worked a scoreless seventh.  In the eighth, with the score tied 2-2, Wooster took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Garrett Crum with one out and the bases loaded.  Hack retired Harry Witwer-Dukes to end the inning but the Big Red were down to their last three outs, trailing 3-2.

Will Krushena led off with a walk.  Brian McAuliffe singled up the middle, moving Krushena to second.  Brad Baldinger dropped a bunt and reached base on a throwing error by Wooster reliever Andrew Hill.  The error allowed Krushena to score from second base, tying the game at 3-3.

Vince Walker drove in the go-ahead run with a single to center, scoring pinch runner, Steven Verstandig.  After a successful sacrifice bunt by Cam Farren, Anthony Ruggieri gave the Big Red a 5-3 lead with a sac fly to center, scoring Baldinger.

Haack returned in the ninth and after a leadoff walk by Chandler Dippman, Haack sat the Scots down in order for the win.

Grady Paine, Walker, and Farren had two hits for the Big Red.  Haack earned the win in relief to improve to 3-0.  Denison (37-7) will go toe-to-toe with Wooster (26-11) once again on Saturday at 11 a.m. for the hardware.  The North Coast Athletic Conference will providelive video coverage beginning at 10:45 a.m.
