Cougars and Yellow Jackets Suspended Until Sunday

More news about: Concordia-Chicago

May 18, 2019 - In the middle of what had been a beautiful day for baseball, inclement weather decided to intervene. The Concordia-Chicago winners' bracket game versus Baldwin-Wallace University was in the bottom of the seventh inning, BWU at bat. The Cougars are leading 6-5, but the Yellow Jackets had runners on third and second with no one out when the game was stopped.

The plan is for the game to be picked up from the point it was suspended at 9 a.m. on Sunday. After the game is finished, the remainder of the schedule for Sunday will be determined. The winner of the CUC-BWU game will advance to the championship round, needing only to win one more game for the regional title, while the loser will play Buena Vista University (who eliminated St. John's University earlier in the day) for the right to play in the championship round. That team would then have to win twice in the championship round to advance to next weekend's super regional.
