HENNIKER, N.H. – New England College baseball's junior pitcher Shayne Audet made history as he picked up fourth-team All-America status from D3baseball.com, the national organization announced Wednesday morning.
The right-handed pitcher secured a spot on the fourth team in the 15th edition of the D3baseball.com All-America team, which saw over 1,000 players nominated, and was the only selection from the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) players to make the prestigious list.
The first-team all-region honoree from D3baseball.com, Audet logged 50.1 innings with a 1.61 ERA on his way to first-team All-NECC honors. Behind a .130 opponent batting average and a 14.13 strikeout per nine innings, the 2022 NECC Pitcher of the Year struck out 79 batters and allowed just five extra-base hits all year. He earned NECC Pitcher of the Week three times (3/27/22, 4/24/22, and (5/1/22) and registered 10+ strikeouts in five outings this season.
Audet becomes the 18th All-American in NEC history and the first baseball player.
