Late Inning Explosion Propels Keystone Past Marymount 13-5

DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Keystone College baseball team scored nine runs in the seventh & eighth innings on route to a 13-5 victory over Marymount University on Wednesday afternoon.

The Giants have now won four straight contests and move to .500 at 4-4. Keystone will play North Park and FDU-Florham on Saturday, March 18, starting at 9:15 a.m. Marymount drops to 9-4.

Keystone tallied 16 hits on the day, as seven Giants finished with two or more hits. Josh Parks (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma) was a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI, launching a two-run bomb to right in the fourth.

Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) and Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic) both drove in two runs, with Acosta hustling for an inside-the-park homer in the eighth.

Robert Estrada (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris)Anthony Raimo (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy)Giovanni Diaz (Bronx, N.Y./Christopher Columbus), and Jason Thomas (Miami, Fla./Barbara Goleman) all tallied two hits.

Brayan Villar (West Orange, N.J./Belleville) earned the start and the win, tossing 5.1 innings with five strikeouts, six groundouts and four flyouts. Julian Gonzalez (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) and Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) appeared in relief.
