ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby) had two hits, including a double, and three RBI as the 10th-ranked Randolph-Macon baseball team dropped a 10-5 ODAC decision to No. 3 Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon.

Score: Shenandoah 10, Randolph-Macon 5

Site/Venue: Ashland, Va. / Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park

How It Happened

  • After the Hornets plated one in the top of the first, the Yellow Jackets responded in the bottom of the frame. Junior Matt Myers (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) had a leadoff single and moved to second when senior Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) drew a walk. Both runners moved up 90 feet on a passed ball. With two away, Webb launched a double to center to drive in Myers and Iannuzzi, giving RMC a 2-1 edge.
  • SU scored nine unanswered runs before the Yellow Jackets lit the scoreboard again in the ninth. Senior Carter Johnson (Southampton, Va./Southampton) drew a leadoff walk and went to third on a single by junior Grayson Bush (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello). Johnson would come home on a wild pitch. Iannuzzi and freshman Carter Schmitt (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's) drew walks to load the bases. Senior Hunter Cole (Norfolk, Va./Granby) walked to force in Bush. Webb singled to right to drive in Iannuzzi, making the final 10-5.
