LYNX REBOUND WITH WIN OVER NORTH CENTRAL

After a tough loss yesterday, the Lynx bounced back against the North Central Illinois Cardinals, defeating them by a score of 6-1.

Zac Sohosky did what he does, continuing his dominant collegiate career going 5 ⅔ scoreless innings, surrendering only three hits and punching out nine, and improving to 3-0 on the season.

The bats got going early in the first, with Ben Burkhart tripling home Quinn Blackman, his first of four hits this afternoon. Eli Selby then knocked home Burkhart, giving the Lynx a 2-run first frame.

Then in the third, Eli Selby knocked in another run on a hard-hit grounder to short, extending the lead.

In the 7th, Burkhart singled home Mick Arney, then, after swiping second base, scored from second on a deep SAC fly by Dante Messina.

In the 8th inning, Rush Bowman smashed a double to left center field, barely missing a homer. Mick Arney then doubled to right, scoring Bowman.

Reid Lampert pitched in relief of Sohosky, navigating a tricky bases-loaded jam, finalizing Sohosky's line at 5 ⅔ innings, 3 hits, and 9 Strikeouts. Lampert then pitched a scoreless two innings, only allowing 1 hit.

Freshman Andrew Carron made his collegiate debut, giving up a hit and a run, but striking out two and closing out the win for the Lynx.

The Lynx are back in action at 2 pm tomorrow for the finale of this weekend's invitational against the Webster Gorloks.
