D'Amato hits, Duke pitches Seahawks to eighth straight win

AUBURNDALE, Fla. (Tuesday, March 12, 2024) - Salve Regina University graduate student Matt D'Amato (Midland Park, N.J.) had three basehits, including a double, and drove in three runs while starting pitcher Hayden Duke (Mattapoisett, Mass.) struck out seven in six innings of two-hit ball as the Seahawks defeated the Kohawks of Coe College, 9-1, on Tuesday morning at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida.

Sophomore outfielder Shane Williams (Georgetown, Mass.) also drove in three runs on a pair of singles in two at bats. Freshman Sean Woodruff (Cranford, N.J.) faced 10 batters and struck out five while allowing just one baserunner in three scoreless innings to earn the save.
