Seahawks score 13-5 victory over Cougars

WORCESTER, Mass. (Tuesday, April 9, 2024) - The #6/7 Salve Regina University baseball team scored six runs in the third inning en route to a 13-5 final against Clark University in NEWMAC action at Granger Athletic Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

Five Seahawks had multiple hits led by graduate student Matt D'Amato (Midland Park, N.J.) who went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Wil McCarthy (Pembroke, Mass.) and Hunter Yaworski (Brooklyn, Conn.) drove in four and three runs, respectively. Sophomore pitcher Joe DeRienzo (Trumbull, Conn.) went five innings as the starter to pick up his third win of the season. Tommy DelVecchio (Westfield, N.J.) added another 2.2 scoreless innings to his ledger.
