Salve Regina was able to get a run back in the bottom of the ninth to make it a three-run game, but it was as close as the home team would get. First year pinch hitter Alex Holberton (Chatham, N.J.) served a one-out single to center field, before advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt. D'Amato came through with an RBI single to center to cut the Lyons' lead to 5-2, but Cardoza induced the final batter into a pop-up to second to end the game.

The Seahawks broke into the scoring column with a run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 edge. Salve Regina loaded the bases with one out. Senior Brandon Grover (Ashland, Mass.) was issued a walk to open the frame, before O'Rourke drew a base on balls and Yaworski reached on an infield single. Senior Tyler Cannoe (Schenectady, N.Y.) received a free pass to push Grover across the plate with the first run of the afternoon. Salve Regina looked to add to its lead, but Cardoza was able to get a double play ball to get out of the inning with the first of three inning-ending double plays for the game.
