Shreveport – The Centenary baseball team split a pair of games on Sunday afternoon, edging Huntingdon College by a score of 2-1 and falling 5-2 to #24 Rhodes College on the final day of the Gents Classic at Shehee Stadium.
The Diamond Gents (2-1) opened the season with a 10-5 win over the LaGrange College Panthers on Saturday. Huntingdon fell to 0-3 and Rhodes, ranked 24th in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Preseason Top 25 poll, improved to 3-1.
Centenary remains at home next weekend to open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play against Texas Lutheran University with game one of the series set for Friday at 6 p.m.
