ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Chaz Harvey (Charlottesville, Va./The Miller School) was a triple short of the cycle with three runs and three RBI, while junior Jordan Hill (Norfolk, Va./Granby) smacked his first collegiate homer and knocked in three, as the No. 13 Randolph-Macon baseball team outscored Catholic 11-8 on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- The Cardinals used a three-run homer in the top of the third to break the scoreless tie. The Yellow Jackets got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the frame. With two away, Harvey doubled down the left field line and scored on a base hit by sophomore Jon Quici (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) to make it 3-1.
- Catholic tallied unearned runs in the fourth and fifth to extend its lead to 5-1 before RMC put up crooked numbers in four consecutive innings.
- In the bottom of the fifth, senior Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) drew a leadoff walk and scored when Hill was plunked with the bases loaded. Harvey singled and came home on a sacrifice fly by sophomore Jack Bowles (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) to make it 5-3.
- Sophomore Zach Wernoski (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) drew a leadoff walk in the sixth and moved to second on a bunt single by junior Carter Schmitt (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's). Harvey homered over the top of the foul pole in left field to put the home team on top 6-5.
- Wernoski had a two-run double and scored in the seventh as the advantage grew to 9-5.
- The Cardinals put up two in the top of the eighth before Hill's two-run dinger in the bottom of the frame made it 11-7. Catholic added a run in the ninth to make the final 11-8.
- Senior Sam Slevin (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank Cox) fanned three over the final 1.1 innings to record his second save. Slevin tied the program record of 13 career saves held by Christian Cok.
